Just updated to the new 2017 update and lost a tonne of work after After Effects crashed for no reason??
Before that it crashed two times after opening projects.
This has only been happening since updating. How can I stop this from happening?
Adobe, is there a bug in this new update?

I just got a wacom intuos draw for use in After Effects. The pen pressure is not working in after effects even when dynamics is set to pen pressure. It simply sraws a 1 px line. I attached an image to show what I mean. The tablet and pen pressure work perfectly in Photoshop so it seems like an after effects problem. I have the most recent driver and totally up to date with cc 2017. Thanks!
Getting this error for jpeg and raw sequences after updated to the latest version of Ae. All images are in RGB. My workaround was to use Ae 2014, my go-to when things get buggy.

Our department is having SERIOUS issues with Adobe CC and network accounts when we migrated to macOS Sierra.
At this point Apple is pointing to Adobe so I am posting here to see if anyone else has this issue:
When using macOS Sierra client and a network account (home directories served from macOS Server 5.2), Adobe CC After Effects, Premiere Pro, Audition all crash or freeze upon launch.
After Effects does this:
We think the Adobe apps cannot somehow access the network user's preferences folder.
When we revert our Client computers to 10.11.6, Adobe works.
When we use 10.12.3 Clients, Adobe crashes.
How can we mitigate this under macOS Sierra?

Hello. I've searched for the answer to this already and found nothing, so please excuse me if this has been addressed. I have recently switched to a different computer and, presumably, a different version of After Effects. I'm accustomed to holding Option and using the Left and Right Arrow Keys to move selected keyframes one frame at a time. On my new machine, this does not appear to work. However, adding Shift to the shortcut still moves the selected keyframes in 10 frame increments. I'm trying to meet a deadline. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Example: A keyframe is at the 11th frame. I want it to be at the 10th frame. I select it. I hold Option+Left Arrow Key to move the keyframe back 1 frame to the 10th frame. Nothing happens.

Hello. I have been searching for a solution to my problem, but alas, I cannot find one.
I have been having an issue with motion tile. Motion tile is added to all of my clips. The output width and height is set to '130' and "Mirror Edges" is checked. I also have a preset/transition that is on an adjustment layer over each clip. This preset also has motion tile attached to it. When I try to render, I get this error message "After Effects error: Motion Tile cannot allocate a buffer larger than 30000 pixels in either dimension. (516) ( 25 : : 26 ). My composition is set to 1920x1080 so that my resolution is nice. I have tried changing it to 720p, but that hasn't helped. I'm not sure what to do, and my deadline is coming up quickly. Please help. (I'm slightly a beginner so complex terms confuse me). Thanks
I have imported a psd file into after effects. The file imported but whenever I bring it into the composition it turns some layers black (bottom photo). It should look like the top photo.

So I updatet AE to 14.2 today and it crashes instantly when I open it. Any tips?

My project is mostly jpgs and pngs. All the pngs are the same kind of transparent background pngs exported from psd layers, but sometimes AE randomly imports them wrongly/differently and renames them for no apparent reason. And then I can't drag them into the timeline normally, they appear only as a fraction of a second and wont expand.
eg. i made 2 different cloud graphics clouds1.png and clouds2.png (below). AE brings in clouds2.png fine but refuses to cooperate with clouds1.png - which is identical file characteristics & dimensions except for a slightly differently shaped cloud. The pngs are not wrongly named psd's, there are no masks, no paths, no alpha channels - they're all rgb pngs. In fact cloud1 was created in Photoshop from a dupe of perfectly fine cloud2.
AE renames cloud1.png as clouds[1-2].png with this different icon and most importantly - won't let me swap it in place of another graphic in AE.
This keeps happening randomly with both pngs and jpgs and is really frustrating. How to fix?

The question says it all! I'm creating render slaves, and I have .aom files that I've exported from my licensed version of AE that I'd like to be usable for the render slaves without engaging the UI, as they are ae_render_only_node.txt clients.
Where should I put the templates so that they are discoverable by After Effects CC 2017 (latest)?
The command line I'm using would look like this:
aerender.exe -project "[project path]" -comp "[Compname]" -OMtemplate "***path to aom file??***" -output "[output path]\[#####].png" -s [startFrame] -e [endFrame]
The .aom file would be the exported custom template I made within AE.
Any suggestions?

I have my graphics card enabled but this thing is not going away. Every time I hit the space bar to play and hit it again to pause, the composition panel flashes and everything is so slow too. I've used after effects before on same system but it was fine then. It is very frustrating. I've got 960M 4GB and 4720HQ with 16GB of RAM, this doesn't seem a hardware problem. I am not being able to fix it. HELP

I've got a 2017 Dell XPS notebook with a 1TB SSD, 32GB RAM and an i7 running Win10. It is connected to a TB port which in turn is connected to a true 4k monitor.
AE brings up the little blue Win10 spinning wheel frequently when simple editing e.g. just clicking on text layers etc. Its only a 5 minute video with about 50 text layers and not much else.
I brought up resource manager to see what is going on and the Disk Usage is maxing out. RAM and CPU is definitely nowhere near maxing out.
Anyone know what's going on?

I just upgraded my AE to the latest version, which is CC 2017.2(14.2.0). However, everytime I launch After Effects, this note shows.
It is so annoying. How could this be fixed?

I try to make camera movement with null and 3D layer. I add null object and camera above all layers. But, When I add 3D Layer for all layers, the bottom layer look like top layer
