It seems that AE CS5 and CS6 are incapable of rendering a Quicktime to an NFS mount on Mac OS 10.7.x and 10.8.x. It simply beachballs and I have to force quit. On 10.6.x it used to work fine. Also, rendering to an image sequence over NFS works fine, as does rendering a QT to my desktop and then copying it over to the NFS server with the Finder. We have two different NFS servers (one very expensive Bluearc Titan NAS and one extremely expensive Stornext SAN reshared through a linux box) and both behave the same way.
I know Adobe doesn't care about customers with networked resources:
"Adobe Technical Support only supports using Premiere Pro, Premiere Elements, After Effects, Encore, Media Encoder, Prelude or SpeedGrade on a local hard disk. It's difficult to re-create or accurately identify network- and peripheral-configuration problems." Quoted from http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/networks-removable-media-dva.ht ml
And of course Apple doesn't care either, blaming it on Adobe's product.
Does anyone else have any ideas?
