Problems exporting 10-bit DNxHD 444 from After Effects

I use DNxHD quicktimes a lot as a great freely available, cross-platform replacement for ProRes, but I've been hitting a problem with the top-end DNxHD 444 flavour of the codec.

I can render out to regular DNxHD in 10-bit just fine, and I can render out to DNxHD 444 in 8-bit. But when I try to output to DNxHD 444 in 10-bit (i.e. with 'Trillions of Colors' selected) everything goes screwy: the video is stretched, and covered with what look like black stripes but which - on closer inspection - are more like white, cyan, magenta and yellow stripes... I've tried every variation I can come up with of different colour management options and export settings, in CS6 and CS5.5, using the Avid LE and PE codecs in versions 2.3.7 and 2.3.8, on PCs and Macs, with no success.

I have an on-going support case running with Avid, who are trying to work it out; but one problem is that I don't have any non-Adobe software I can use to output DNxHD 444 and be sure that it's in 10-bit - FCP or Quicktime Pro, for example, only give you the option of 'Millions of Colors' (i.e. 8-bit).

So: has anyone succesfully rendered out to DNxHD 444 in 10-bit from CS6? Or another version of After Effects? Or even any other software...? I just want to narrow down the options, to see if it's a problem with my setup, with Creative Suite, or with the Avid codecs.

Thanks!
