Hi Guys,
Finally i installed after effects on my PC (windows7,i5,4gb ram,1gb nvidea) and got in to the quick time not installed trap and trying to get out of it.i read lot of helpful posts in the forum and i will list what i have done/observe so far. also i'd like to say i have zone alaram/norton installed on my pc.
1.removing and reinstalling quick time.latest version 7.73
2.removing the latest quick time and rolling back to an older version 7.71
3.removing and reinstalling after effects.
4.removing any restrictions for adobefx.exe,adobe qt32,dynamiclink from the firewall
5.turning off firewall and antivirus software
6.removing adobe preferences data from application data>adobe>after effects folder
7.restarting in safe mode and running after effects
8.checked quick time components folder and it is empty
9.uninstalled xvid codec
10.premier cs6 does not warn about quick time installation
but i'm still getting this quick time not installed issue.
Please help me with
either fixing the quick time issue
or work around it. I shot my videos on a 7d which records H.264 mov files.and they are really slow to work with.im happy to convert them to another, after effects editing friendly format -non quick time- if you can advise me of one, and a converter.
