Light painting Video

Hello Everyone.

So I've searched through some discussions here about Lightpainting Videos and it doesn't seem like there was ever a good solution.

I am quite skilled with stillphotography and know the options of timeintensive animation of long exposures. What I am looking for, is to record a clip where

I hold a light and walk with it, then create something like an echo effect only for the lightsource so that the light becomes a line, like it would

in a long exposure picture. Just that in this case, you could watch as the line gets longer.
