Hey folks,
So I've got a shot I'm working on where I was lucky enough to be able to do a test before we shoot the final one tomorrow - kinda late notice to be posting here for advice but it's worth a shot.
The easiest way to describe the shot is actually to watch the test I did http://youtu.be/yb9YJRaXvIA
Ok...so when we shoot the plates for real, the actress we'll be using has black hair.
I believe the video will be 8bit 185mpbs shot on the FS-100 in case that's important.
What coloured balloon would be best to use? Since lighting the balloon evenly isn't really going to be an option and the hair will be black I thought maybe a white balloon could work best? Or just a lighter green than the one I used.
The other problem is the tube going to the balloon to inflate it. We tried various positions where the tube was hidden under the hair round the side but for various reasons this position going vertical down her back looks a lot better. I hurredly covered it with some GS fabric in the test but it didn't work out so well. I might try using blue screen fabric on the day as the stuff I have is much stretchier and could be easier to get it flat and wrinkly free.
Any advice for shooting and/or post would be much appreciated! Particularly separating hair from unevenly lit background. Roto?
Thanks in advance!
