Hi,
We are STILL looking around to decide on the plug in suite we want to buy that would suit our project best. I have had a lot of exposure to Video Copilot, and Rede Giant. I have downloaded a lot of trial plug ins and had a play here and there. I have also read a lot of the forum and web discussions around plug ins. There is one thing that confuses me though.... why do I not see BCC mentioned very often (or am I just looking in the wrong places?).
I am going to take the day today to put the effects suites I know of (and it will be those three - BCC, RG and VcP) in a spreadsheet - single products vs suite sets. I need to do the task today of projecting our future needs for the rest of the first season of the project - and deciding if it is worth purchasing the sets now, or individual plug ins as needed. Once we have secured the sale of the first season, obviously everything will change, and we will be in a better position to buy full sets. I am just concerned about wasting an already stretched budget on a single plug in, and finding out later that a set, for a few rands/dollars more would have actually been the better buy
Anyway, I am not looking for an answer (and I have posed this type of question before, and recieved some nice feedback around particular....um, in particular ) but more an account of personal experience with the products. I know it depends on what effect we are looking for, but for us, it is a space show for kids, so lasers, force fields, engine glows, heat haze, clouds, smoke landing, taking off - you know, pretty much every effect you can think of!
I am especially interrested in any feedback on BCC, as mentioned, I am yet to hear about it as a usable and workable suite.
Thanks guys.
Pierre
Oh yes, we already have VcP Optical Flares bundle, and Twixtor. We also have one or two plug ins from Mathias Mohl - for lip synch and Mocha tracking work. So far all of these are proving to be really good for our needs. (just thought I would mention that!)
