Why is "Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously" greyed out?

In Preferences -> Memory & Multiprocessing, the "Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously" option is greyed out.  Any idea why?

System:

Win 7 64bit

AE CC Trial version

4Gb RAM

2.5Gb available for AE

6 core CPU
