Video card help

Hi

i bought a new system for video editing, i use cs6 not cc,

computer specs are

asus p8p67 deluxe motherboard

i7 2600k

4x4 gb 2133 ramm evo veloce

hive 750 power supply

corsair 240 ssd drive

western digital 1 tb drive

and currently has a radeon 6780 graphics card

i made a 10 secong 3d ray-traced 3d clip and it took this machine almost 4 hours to render

i have read it is due to the incompatability of the radeon card.

is this most likely the culprit?

if so, i was looking into upgrading to this card

the EVGA gtx770 4gb

will this help, is it not enough? is it overkill. this is probaly my max (450$) budget for a card, realisticaly about 250 would be better but if this card will make all the difference i will invest in it.
