Crash when applying Numbers Effect in After Effects CC

I have been having this problem for a month or two now. Everytime I try to apply the effect, After Effects immediatly crashes and saves a secondary version of the project.

Please let me know if anyone knows of an update, or a workaround to this. I do not like having to go back to CS6 just to apply the numbers effect.
