Tweaks to get good results in camera tracker?

Today I shot very simple footage with my Canon 60D DSLR to use as practice for inserting 3D objects using Element 3D. Basically the footage is handheld, camera forward while I'm walking towards the front door, opening it, which gives a view of the front yard and the porch in the foreground. I keep walking past the porch and then rotate the camera towards the right, then tilt upwards a bit. After that, I rotate the camera to the left. The plan was to insert 3D objects to both left and right.

Usually when I use the CS6 camera tracker I get pretty good results, but this time I'm getting "analysis solve failed" on all four takes. Or, it stays on "Solving camera" for minutes on end, when these are clips shorter than a minute and usually that takes no time to solve.

I thought this footage was going to be easy to track because last weekend I shot some footage also in the front and back yards and it tracked perfectly, especially because there are lots of dry leaves that provide good points of reference. But today it's just not working, even if I do a detailed analysis. Note that the footage is properly exposed, and there's plenty of detail

Are there any tweaks I can make? I tried adding levels to add more exposure and it didn't help. Sharpening also didn't help. I'll keep trying different filters (always before the camera tracker one), but does anybody know of a better way (without buying a 3rd party tool) or a specific filter that will give me good results?

Thanks,

Sebastian
