Unable to allocate enough memory to render the current frame

I am using after effects CC latest version. I have an iMac 3.4GHz intel Core 17 16gb of ram and this has never happened to me before. I have purged memory, re-started computer. It happens no matter what project I open. I can't preview my work. I run mavericks 10.9
