When I launch AE CC i get this message:
Quicktime is not installed on this system, some components will not work correctly. And sure enough QuickTime does not show up in the Output Module.
Working on an iMac with Mavericks. QT 7.6.6 is installed in the Applications/Utilites folder.
I have looked at this page:
the only tip that seems it might apply:
permissions problem with preferences folder or corrupt preferences
Yet another cause of After Effects and QuickTime failing to communicate is a problem with permissions for files in the After Effects preferences directory. To force After Effects to rebuild the preferences directory and set the permissions correctly (as well as reset any corrupt preferences), quit After Effects, remove the following folder, and then restart After Effects:
- (Mac OS) [drive]/Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/10.0
- (Windows) [drive]Users[username]AppDataRoamingAdobeAfter Effects10.0
BUT
There is no Library in the Users folder nor is there any folder that seems related in the Library folder
This has been immensely frustrating and time-consuming. I would happily go back to using AECS6 until Adobe fixes all these bugs BUT I can't open that anymore (that would be another long thread of troubleshooting that has so far failed).
PLEASE HELP!
