Use a mask path to move a paint brush in After Effects

Hey guys, is there anyway that i can use a mask path to move a paint brush in After Effects???

I want to make a write-on-paint reveal brush and to move the paint brush layer while revealing the picture under it i thought of using a mask path........is it possible to use a mask path or is there any other way???
