Help optimizing AE CS6 for my pc

My ram preview is very slow, even when using 1/4 of 720p resolution. Rendering is fast at start but slows to around 2 frames per second when ram is close to being full.

Task manager shows around 6.8gb ram usage, while cpu usage is less than 50% so clearly my cpu is just waiting for ram.

I have a lot of questions in preferences settings so thank you in advance to those who will help.

1. what are these settings for?

2. It says my gpu is not supported. I have latest gpu driver, should I install the AMD OpenCL driver too?

3. What would be the best settings for cache, considering I only have two drives, and what are those other cache options in the bottom?

4. Should I enable render multiple frames simultaneously?

My specs:

CPU: AMD FX6100 4.0Ghz

RAM SLOT1: 8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600

RAM SLOT2: empty (I have a spare kingston 4gb 1333 if needed)

GPU: Sapphire HD6850 1GB 256bit

HDD: Seagate 500gb, Hitachi 500GB

Seagate 100GB partition = windows 7 and AE

Seagate 365GB partition = raw footage from camera

Hitachi 500GB = disk cache and final render
