How do I create something similar to this? (see picture)

Hi,

I'm going to be creating some lower thirds using a logo which is shaped as a circle.

I would like to know how to create something similar to picture #1 how there is that rounded space between the logo and the rectangle containing the text.

I would also like to know how to round off the ennd as seen in picture #2.
