Whenever I try to create a shape from an Illustrator file it just turns into a grey box. I did originally create the image in photoshop however it is very simple and I did convert it into an illustrator file. Can anyone suggest why this is happening and if i need to just redo the logo in Illustrator then is there a way to recreate the white stroke on the inner most part?

I've tried doing this on both my windows PC at home and the MAC I use at college and have always had the same result.
