I cannot get audio to play in RAM preview. I have tried .wav and .aiff files.
Composition>Preview>Audio is checked:
"Mute Audio" button is not checked:
The Audio panel resonds to the audio:
Created an entirely new project, imported just audio, but it still won't preview.
I have read this article:

(I have no number pad fyi)
Audio plays through other programs (iTunes, Chrome).
When I render, audio plays successfully. Just no way to preview.
My setup:
2013 MBP
OSX 10.9.1
2.4 GHz intel core i7
8gb 1600MHz DDR3
AE 12.1.0.168
How can I preview audio?
