Do shape background animation presets work in Creative Cloud?

I'm using CS6 Creative Cloud After Effects and all animation presets just leave me with a blank solid / no animation, whatever I apply it to

Specificaly I want to use Nerve Net Shape Background preset

and Drift Over time.

Nothing works...

Do I need to download something extra?

Any advice much appreciated
