After upgrading to AE 12.2, I noticed an error popping up while working on the next video of a series (which had not had any problems before, even using the same footage). I was getting "Error (4) reading frame from file..." errors, immediately followed by a "Keylight out of memory (4) (25::241)" error. I got both errors twice before I could move the playhead again.

 

 

I tried opening other projects that had been workin fine on 12.1, both from the same seriesbut previous episodes and also other projects using footage from the same camera with and without Keylight and encountered the error again. removing Keylight did not solve the issue. After some forum searches (mostly turning up older issues revolving around the DVCProHD Output component), I was able to confirm through activity monitor that Adobe QT32 Server was not responding whenever the error popped up. I tried all of the support suggestions I could find regarding QT32 server (deleting prefereneces, removing the output component, etc.), with no change in errors. I had a coworker who had also updated to 12.2 try it out, and he also received the errors, just like I had. I opened the project on another coworker's computer with 12.1 and was able to work and output without issue (output both from the Render Queue and from AME were also failing).

 

Tech details:

Footage was DVCProHD .mxf's from an HVX200, shot on greenscreen and keyed with Keylight. Footage was originally editing in Premiere Pro CC (latest version) then dynamic linked to get the timeline into AE. All remaining work was completed and output from AE (this is how I have done this entire series). Footage is being pulled from a NAS over a gigabit connection. I'm on OS X 10.9, on a 2.7 GHz i5 iMac with 10GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB:

 

 

Let me know what other information you need. I had to downgrade to 12.1 so that I could finish this project (which resolved the issue), but my coworker's computer that was experiencing the same errors is still on 12.2, so I can look at troubleshooting on it if needed for testing.

Hi all!

 

My After Effects CC does not have the "Save A Copy As CS6" function available in the save menu. Can anyone help me? Another project I am on has CS6 but cannot open files created from any of the options listed in the attached screenshot.

I have been using this work flow for sometime. I hand animate a sequence or a still of a character in Flash Pro on a single timeline, no scipts, etc just clean keayframe animation or a single frame.

 

Then export the sequence as a .swf.

 

Then usually import it into After Effects and use the vector output in my AE scene.

 

After completeing an animatic for a client last week all the swf's in my AE project are EMPTY. I tried re-exporting from flash and reimporting into AE and again they show up 1st time but if I close and reopen the project they are GONE again!!! Help I have been doing this same process since CS4 and I have master animations in AE files that I'm now scared to death to open because AE will make my work vanish...

These are my computer specs:

I7  - 4790 CPU @ 3.60 ghz

16 GB RAM

64 BIT

WINDOWS 8.1

DEDICATED VIDEO CARD - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745 with 4GB RAM

 

I am trying to render a 1 minute clip which has about 10 seconds of raytraced 3d layers. I am rendering in media encoder cc 2014 at a high bitrate (h.264). It is giving me an estimated time greater than 8 hours, I am not sure why it is taking this long. Is there any specific setting I can change to make this faster?

 

FYI: With any other clip that does not have raytraced 3d layers, it renders really quickly.

 

any help is appreciated.

I have the new mac pro with this settings:

 

3 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5

64 GB 1867 MHz DDR3 ECC

AMD FirePro D700 6144 MB

Software OS X 10.9.2

 

And the AE performs slower than in my old mac pro. I have set the preferences as seen on all those tutorials on this site, I have an SSD external disc for cache files, memory and multiprocessing settings correctly...and previews are very very slow, and I can not even render a single comp without waiting 10 minutes. I am very disappointed and considering with this situation...

Am I missing something?

how can i active this effect?

ive seen some videos in cs4 with live photoshop 3d and its beautiful

peapole that draw camion, cube, car etc than import in AE and active this effect to work with a full 3d layer in AE U_U how can i do this?

Running the latest MacBook pro with all updated under Mavericks and CC.

 

All other versions of Aftereffects work fine on the Mac CS6 and old CC run supper fast and don't say QT isn't installed.

Tried the Cuda core install experiment made no difference. (Power save on the Graphics card is off)

QT is definitely installed have all the extra mac pro codecs. (in a hope it would sort out legacy QT's not previewing in Mavericks Quick look....it doesn't...but that's Apple dropping whats not important to them, sod the actual end users)

 

Anyone else have this problem on a MacBook pro?

 

Hopefully it will get sorted.

i've been getting quicktime errors in after effects cc14, windows 8.1, update 1. when importing a quicktime file that opens and plays in vlc, and quicktime player, i'm getting the error "After Effects error: file 'xxx.mov" cannot be imported this .mov file is damaged or unsupported. i've uninstalled quicktime and reinstalled to no avail.

Ok first off, I just opened up After Effects for the first time like 3 days ago.  I have worked in many other CS6 programs though and haven't had trouble in any of them so far, but when I run Warp Stabilizer in After Effects it analyzes the video and before it's done analyzing or immediately afterwards my computer turns off.  Since I've been trying to find answers for 3 days on the web I figured I'd ask some pros what I can do.

 

My system is homemade, I have 8 GB of RAM (low but should be capable of the job, right?),  the speed is 3.80 ghz and the OS is Windows 8.1, graphics card (if that matters) - NVIDIA GeForce.  I'm not sure what other information I should provide but I'll be back to answer questions.

 

What I have done to try to resolve the problem on my own is small things like clearing the cache, rendering and purging the video, I also tampered with the settings under the preferences tab and followed directions provided through Adobe's Tutorials.  When the stabilizer is analyzing I analyzed the performance of my CPU and other drives, they all look good as far as being low, the memory is working the hardest at 43% but I wouldn't think that would cause this problem.

I am having this similar issue with Adobe After Effects CC 2014 Version 13.0.0.214 where it keeps popping up a message box about not being able to render a frame. I meet the system recommendation of 8GB memory for CC 2014 based on the following page.

My RAM fills up very quickly as I RAM preview in AE (Using Control key with scrubbing) and watch my Task Manager performance tab.

 

I tried enabling that cache checkbox option in AE but it doesn't help. It's really frustrating when AE gets stuck in a constant loop of trying to acquire memory and that message keeps popping up. I have to try and save and then force quit the application to release the memory usage. I have already tried closing background apps that I don't need running.

 

Here are some screens.

You will see Chrome, SnagIt and a few others running in this screen because I was putting together this post. As I've mentioned earlier, I've already tried closing these background apps previously.

I keep getting this error message "Unable to allocate 0.002 MB of memory" in AE CC7 2014. This error is preventing me from saving my work.

 

I never had this issue with CS6 or CC7. It has made using After Effects basically impossible for anything less than 15 minutes before I should kill the app and restart..

 

The issue appears to be a problem with scrubbing will holding crtl to get the audio playback. I think it is also worse/more likely if AE auto saves while scrubbing.

It is not possible to animate without hitting the audio beats.

 

I require a fix for this as I have converted by current projects into CC7 2014 and done a bunch of work.

Whenever I try to open Adobe After Effects CC I get an error message saying this:

 

The procedure entry point AMTRetrieveLibraryPath could not be located in the dynamix link library C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2014\Support Files\AfterFXLib.dll.

 

Does anyone else experience this problem?

On the link below, I could only find one list of graphics cards.

 

System requirements | After Effects

 

Under the AE CC System Requirements, the text says to look "below" for the list of Adobe-Certified cards.  The only list "below" is under the System Requirements for AE6.

 

Mac:

 

GeForce GTX 285

GeForce GT 650M*

Quadro FX 4800

Quadro 4000

 

This list is way out of date.  Some of the cards date back to 2004!  Before you tell me that this is the wrong list, this is the exact list that an Adobe Tech referred me to when I was on a tech support call yesterday.

I am editing some 3D text and have my comp settings to use the ray trace engine. All looks good as I edit, but when I render the text is flat 2D. Attached are samples. What's going on?

 

This is what I see when editing in the comp window.

 

 

This is how it renders out. I've tried different formats all thru Media Encoder to no avail.

 

One more data point - if I use Save Frame As it renders correctly with the 3D depth.

Hi Everyone,

 

I am updating from OS X Lion to Mavericks and all seems well but in Activity Monitor I see the Adobe QT32 Server process as "Not responding" yet I am able to import quicktime files and use the QT Video Preview with my AJA card. Is this normal, should I worry or just ignore it and carry on?

 

Any suggestions or advice welcome.

I have AE CC 13 and the File > Save as CS6 option is no longer an option. This is a pretty critical component to my workflow... any ideas?

Hi

 

Been using AE since V4 without big problems. I've just updated to V13 yesterday and it is a nightmare!

Here's a list of the main problems:

Ram Preview often returns "AE needs 2 or more frames to playback". Tried many fix for this but the problem still comes back now and then !

Ram preview sometimes only renders 1 second or even less despite 10GB of ram. I know how to fix this: restart AE! When it happens 20 times in 1 hour, it is just unbearable!

After working 5 hours on a project, I had to restart everything from scratch since AE crashed when opening the project with the error "after effects cc crash occurred while invoking effect plug in warp stabilizer". Despite a long search, I didn't find any solution

AE windows gets minimized when I switch to another application. Don't know why or how to stop this

Installed CUDA 6.0.37 but I'm not able to enable GPU ray-tracing

And finally, when I try to encode the video with media encoder, I have a "connecting to dynamic link server failed" when I import the .aep file

Well, I've tried to render directly from AE but found out that the mp4/H264 options have disappeared

 

I'm running on a Mac Pro/OSX 10.9.2 with 2 x 2.26GHz Quad Core intel xeon, 10GB of DDR3 and a Nvidia Geforce GT120 512MB.
