I want to link a mask to the nose of a tracked face. Detailed face tracking gives me 4 relevant points. I draw a mask with 4 points and now want to link these but can`t find out how to access the individual points of this mask, it jshows me just one keyframe. Any idea?
I have a 500 x 600 MP4 video I want to insert into a project. However, once I import it and try to put it into a project of the same dimensions, the horizontal scaling is way out of wack; it makes the video much wider than intended. I don't understand why that happens or what I can do about it.
Is there any way to get After Effects to read this? Any way to repair it? Or troubleshooting methods? Unfortunately, I need this version of the file. I had done about a day's worth of work, and all the auto-saves give me the same error. I'm really not sure what happened. Everything worked fine, I did my renders, sent it off to the client and now a week later, it's giving me issues.

I had a project on AE CC 2017, where I basically had a layer of the map of the earth with a CCSphere function, and another layer with a global cloud map image with a CCSphere function set very slightly larger than the earth layer beneath it. I also had some transparency to remove the dark parts of the top layer (the parts that were not clouds). this allowed me to rotate the cloud layer at a slightly different speed, giving the illusion of clouds moving over the top of the earth's surface.
I had rendered a sample in AE CC2017 before upgrading to 2018, and it looks fine.
After upgrading to AE CC2018 (and converting the .aep file), it looks terrible. There are dark striations that came out of nowhere. I've spent a few hours trying all kinds of functions under Keying to fix it, but can't get it to look anywhere near as clean as it did before.
Any similar issues/ideas to fix?

I'm working on an animation and I'm not sure what the best approach is. Essentially I'm a writer with a good Photoshop skills and sketching and a firm handle on beginners AfterEffects. I'm trying to make this film as an under-the-belt project to get into a festival or two, so my other work looks stronger when I'm applying for funding as part of a team. I don't want perfect, just presentable.
I'm going to paint each scene in a similar style to 'A Scanner Darkly' (don't laugh just yet) which I know will take months and I'm fine with that. My question is more about what the most common sense approach is to getting the footage together.
I have a green screen I can use when I need to, but I'm not sure if I should take a series of stills to paint the backgrounds in or just film it as though it is live action? Which would be easier to work with when it comes to getting the two characters in? Or should I just shoot everything in live action, including the actors in context?
I've painted stills in Photoshop before so my first idea is to paint the background as stills, then move these around in AfterEffects as needed.
Any advice would be great.

After Effects CC 2018 won't use all allocated RAM on my computer anymore and I don't know why. I have 26 GB allocated, but it won't use more than 10 (details in next section). I'm trying to render output for a part of the project, but it's going insanely slow and it's not allowing me to work on other parts (because AE/PP are tied up rendering this one).
*** background story ***
I've put a few dozen hours into an After Effects CC2018 project including 3D layers and effects. During the beginning of this project, IMPORTANT NOTE: At this point, AE had no problems using the full 26 GB of RAM (out of 32 total) that I had allocated to it.
Somewhere along the way, I ran into an issue where AE wouldn't stop crashing while rendering the preview. I tried a bunch of things including reducing the rendering quality, clearing memory cache, and also making compromises in the project itself by rearranging layers and removing 3D layers. These helped but didn't resolve (i.e. I could work a bit longer until the program crashed again).
I eventually tried uninstalling and reinstalling AE and Premiere Pro, thinking maybe something happened with the installs. I removed preferences as well. This also didn't completely fix the issue, but did seem to help.
I did more changes including resizing the page file on my system and increasing the allocated disk cache to AE. I eventually got the project into a complete-enough state to be done with it. Trying to export this project, i haven't seen AE use more than 10 GB (Premiere Pro is using 2.5, so still well under cap). The rendering time just keeps increasing. I've left it rendering overnight while it was reporting 5 hours remaining, came back 13 hours later to see it reporting 49 hours remaining. The percentage completed did increase, but minimally (i don't remember exactly how much, less than 10%).

Installed RAM: 32 GB
Allocated RAM to Adobe suite: 26 GB
Allocated disk cache to AE: ~30 GB

Source media: 5400 x 2700 resolution, 1 minute long
Output settings: 4096 x 2048, H.264, 15 mbps, 29.97 fps
Current behavior (during project file export) -
AE RAM usage stays between 5 and 10 GB
PP RAM usage stays right around 2.5 GB
total RAM usage on the machine is 45-50%, only Adobe product running is Premiere Pro, and it's only rendering the AE file to the output settings above
total CPU usage is 15-25%, AE spikes it to 99% every 30 seconds or so, then returns to normal
What do I do to get AE to use all allocated RAM again?
I've been trying for days now to stick text on a flat roof in a drone footage.
It's a liniair flight, but at some point de camera is tilting so the text is drifting away from the roof.
Is it possible to realy anchor text precisely in After Effects?

Hi all. So I've discovered that blend mode settings (multiply, overlay, etc) don't transfer over when you open a .ai file in after effects. I'm assuming there's some technical reason for that, so I've gotten in the habit of just importing the .ai layers and setting the blend mode in after effects. But after effects blend modes look very different than they do with the same layers in illustrator. I have scoured the internet but I can't figure out why this is. Can anyone explain or point me to a tutorial?

Attempting to create a 4k composition in newest and updated version of After Effects. CC 2018
Normal text is splitting in half on me. Looks like this.

This only happens when the composition is set to 4k. 1080p and everything works normally.

Hello every,
I have a music channel on Youtube of copyright free songs and so I am uploading songs with my logo in the middle and colors moving to the music as beats happen. When I do all these effects in After Effects to make everything happen when I export the song 99% of the time the audio goes in and out and sounds distorted in some parts. I don't be its the audio being to high or breaking the meter as I don't add any effects to raise the sound of the music. Is After Effects just messing up cause it can't handle all the effects? I am running an Imac with i7 quad processor with 16GM Ram. When I tried to do the same editing on my Macbook Pro which is a year old and only a dual processor and 16GM RAM the audio came out WAY WORSE and pretty much the whole song came out distorted! I linked a video below to where you can hear a song I did where the audio came out distorted and sounded like it was blown out and low. The audio gets distorted at like 10 seconds into the video and goes in and out during the song.

I been using after effect for a long time now. However, with this new update things got weird. whaever footage I set in it's really small and stay in one corner. Please help.
'After Effects error: Unable to allocate space for a 2603 x 5796 image buffer. You may be experiencing fragmentation. In the Memory & Cache Preferences dialog box, try decreasing the Maximum RAM Cache Size value and selecting the Enable Disk Cache option, increasing Maximum Memory Usage, or both'.
That always pops up when I'm rendering. I'm using AE CS4, I run a 32-bit operating system ; the installed ram amount is 3.41 GB, and the ram left for other applications is 1.95 GB.

So, I'm making an animation where these items start floating and rotate around my character in a circular motion, but they dont rotate. I found an example of this here: Undertale: Flowey Boss - YouTube Those hearts go in a circle shape around the red heart without rotating the sprites, so how would I do this?
Also, I'm using AE CS3, so might wanna keep that in mind while finding an example.

I am using the 3D Camera Tracker tool in (AE cs6) to overlay property boundaries on drone footage moving around the site. On a different video from the same day it worked flawlessly, but now i am running into problems.
When I insert text or a shape two things happen.
I am inserting the text/shape by selecting a marker, right clicking, and selecting create text (or shape) and camera.
After sifting through the forums and youtube for hours I am out of ideas, confused, and frustrated. I have reset after effects to the default settings as well.
I have taken some screenshots that show the issue.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I'm a beginner, and I'm working on a project that has lots of reds. My rendered quicktime looks dull. I've explored some redeeming options.
Output Module Lossless Main Options
—I selected both the "Animated" or "H.264" options.
Output Module Lossless Color Management section
— "Preserve RGB" has been selected and unselected
— Convert to Linear Light has been selected as "Off" and "On for 32 bps" whatever that means.
— Video Output: RGB
— Depth: Millions of Colors
— Color is Premultiplied (Matted) whatever that means
My other settings are:
— Quality: Best
— Resolution: Full
— Frame Rate: 29.97
Nothing is working. It's all the same, dull. Argh!

When ever I import my .psd file to AE, I immediately notice that my adjustment layer mask is out of position.
How do I manage to import my file with everything intact like in photoshop? Is there a way I should be grouping my layers before importing into AE?
It seems like all my adjustment mask layers and clipping mask layers are either out of place or don't have any effect when imported to AE.

라고 뜨지만 실제 제가 누끼를 딴 던 10초가량인데 컴포지션에 가서 재생을 시켜보면 1초가 살짝 넘는 분량만 고정이 되어있습니다. 이유가 뭘까죠?
