Hi. I'm getting this error with after effects CC 2015. Does anyone know how to fix this?
After Effects warning: Error parsing properties list from memory
It happens every time I try to open up a new window from the window tab on the menu bar. It also seems to be effecting the layer order. The layers don't match to what I'm seeing in the Comp.
I've deleted all the cache and that hasn't worked so if you know any quick fix for this it would be much appreciated.

I have an issue... Since updating to the latest AE 13.6.0.165, I can not get real time previews... no matter what resolution I set the comp or preview at.
Heres the thing, while the preview is playing back... and it varies between 12 fps and 23 fps... if I right click in the comp window... the playback jumps straight into 25 fps - real time (I'm in PAL terrritory)
...then if I click elsewhere the play back again jumps to some rate below real time... This is bizzarre.
Without going into what I'm running on what OS and how much ram etc etc etc... I am bamboozled as to WHY IT HAS ALWAYS WORKED.... till this upgrade?
Does any one else have this issue and does the bizarre right mouse click action enble real time playback?
Pleas someone/STAFF shed a little light on this... as it's VERY annoying.
BTW I am running a 2014 Mac Pro, with Yosemite 10.10.5, 64 GB RAM with Blackmagic Ultra studio Express.

iMac 5K Retina with El Capitan 10.11.1. Latest version of After Effects 13.6. Regardless of how simple the comp is, it will not playback or preview without stuttering, unless I hide the timeline. Hitting the tilde ~ key allows me to solo out the main window and the preview works. But the update designed to fix the terribly performing preview system recently introduced did not fix the problem.
Preview has been told to "cache before playback".
No second monitor attached, no mercury transit enabled. Plenty of RAM and very simple comps. I read on these forums a while back where an adobe tech said the problem stems from the UI taking up too many resources during the preview. Makes sense. But sure wish someone at adobe was listening and working on a solution.
I work on a 2015 5k iMac with 32gb of RAM and 4gb of graphics memory. I have the most recent El Capitan update. I'm working in After Effects CC 2015. I've had this issue both before and after the most recent update. I never had this issue with the old RAM Preview in CS3 on my old macbook with 2gb of RAM. Please tell me that I'm doing something wrong or that Adobe intends to fix this as soon as they possibly can.
I'm using 4K video in motion tracker but it's showing up as lower resolution in the tracker window and I can't keep track of the tracking points because they are bulrry.
I want to create a transparent solid, however I still want it to hide the objects underneath it. I just need an object to appear out of what looks like "thin air". Does anyone know how to pull this off
After upgrading from Mavericks to El Capitan, After Effects will no longer open and the app icon now has a white circle and crossbar over it indicating incompatibility with OS.
The app does not open and crash, nothing happens at all.
Adobe removed the original discussion. This can help anyone who is having trouble seeing the blue keyframe colors. It took me all of 5-10 minutes to find the location of the icons and change their color back to yellow/gold. After waiting nearly a year for a fix to their UI color change, and countless excuses as to why it would be difficult to revert back, I found a solution:

When I try to, it says "Unknown Exception Occurred". Then a dialog box pops up that says "After Effects Error: Crash in progress. Last logged message was: <2916> <DynamicLink> <5> C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe After Effects CC 2015\Support Files\32\dynamiclinkmanager.exe. It also gave me this code ( 0 :: 42 ).
I'm working on Windows 7, 16 GB RAM, i7 processor, GeForce GTX 760 video card.
Also, I installed this last night, so unless they installed an update in the last 8 hours, it's all up to date.
Hey there, I'm extremely new to After Effects CC and was having this issue. When I render my project to QuickTime Player it only plays the audio but not the video, this didn't happen with my previous renders and need help! Any replys are appreciated, Thank you.
Greetings! I am trying to export 1920x1080 footage from a project of the same dimensions to AVI with 16:9 ration and the same 1920x1080 resolution, but I can never get this resolution, only lower numbers ( Do I need some other codecs that allow it?
Standart codects that are built it in AE CC do not seem to have this capacity ( Only if I try MPEG2 but I need AVI!
Adobe what on earth have you gone and done to the latest .1 update?!!! Crash after crash after crash!! We have now withdrawn After FX altogether and restarted the project on FUSION.. which incidentally was recreated in less than half the time (which is why we didn't roll back After FX).
We built the project in 13.6 and things seemed fine.. issues with the slowness on the new Mac Pro were always there but at lease we could work. 13.6.1: brought playing back on the timeline system-quits almost every time. Footage is ProRes 422HQ, length 14 seconds. Some important pref settings shown:

how do i get it to just show 1 preview and not 2?
I am trying to move my animated logo to the centre of the white rectangle, but I just want to move it so it ends up there. When I try and select all of it and move it, it keeps making new keyframes that I do not want! I do not have a lot of experience with after efffects so if someone could simply explain to me what I'm doing wrong that would help me a lot! 
So, I have a clip at 24 FPS that i drag into after effects. Just like the tutorials, I duplicate it, drag the second copy on top, double click it to get to the "layer" window to rotoscope, grab the rotobrush and it tells me i need to set the composition frame rate to 23.976. Okay, cool. I set the composition to 23.976 and to my horror, as i grab the rotobrush again, the top layer (duplicate copy of the footage) all of a sudden doesn't line up with the original! (AKA the duplicate footage layer is scooted down a bit) What is this? So, being experimental, I changed the composition back to 24 FPS and the interpret footage as well, and it is still happening!

When I have created a composition, then for some reason I cannot see anything in my composition window. It is just BLACK.
When I first started following the instructions, from youtube, on how to create muzzle flashes, I could see my muzzleflash on top my chosen image in the
composition window. For some reason now it just shows black. Maybe I have changed some setting. I have tried to reinstall AE, but that did not help either.
HELP any advice?
PS Im a complete novice, so straight forward simple advice will be well received.
I am trying to insert an swf loop file into a composition into after effects. But it isn't playing, it is registering as a still. the loop will play in flash and device central but not after effects. any ideas?? thanks
After Effects keeps overiding my custom presets on export. It turns projects into tiny size and is inconsistent in this. I can do several projects then After Effects suddenly ignores my preset and turns projects from 1920'x 1080 to 352. I have called several times, trying to get an ad out and now Adobe is closed. I am really ...angry.
