I want to make men falling from the sky. That meens that they don't have to fall with the same speed but they have to be accelerating in order to simulate gravity drop. They have to accelerate by "G" (9,81m/s)2.
How can I achieve this accelerated animation by just manipulating the keyframes?
Or, what is a very simple expression which includes G acceleration (9,81)?
I don't like expressions, so it has to be an extremely short, simple and very effective one.

Is there any reason to use one of these methods over the other to create a vignette? I've seen it done both ways (adjustment layer with effect vs. solid layer with blurred mask), and I am wondering if long-timer users feel if one way gives higher quality, more flexibility, or is in any way better than the other for adding a vignette. Thoughts?

I am keyframing position, only the Y parameter, and am getting oscillation between identical keyframes. See the green line in this screen shot. What is going on here?

I found this expression here for make an object fall from its starting point simulating gravity:

But this make the object fall forever, how can I set the last position of the animation and make it stop?
Whenever I open after effects it says "After effects error: Warning: Frame Size Input Error, Layer base size must be the same, time for some precomp maybe? (512) ( 25 :: 241 )"
And when I try to ram preview, it says "After effects error: RAM Preview needs 2 or more frames to playback"

since the recent update to version 13.8, a lot of german shortcuts are not working anymore, e.g. ü for maximizing windows.
How can I make shortcuts with ü,ä,ö work again?

I've stumbled across an issue with my new PC where it seems that even when i'm allocating as much processing power as possible into AE it's not using the full capability of my CPU.
The main issues seems to be that the CPU usage is fluctuating between around 20% - 90% usage & that it's not stable. I've seen some differences recently where it's gone from as low to 6% & as high as 99%. The point is there is never a stable number & on my old desktop PC it was stable at over 90%, it's the same project file in the same version of AE (CS6) just a new computer. The PC is much faster with increased RAM, Processing power & a better graphics card yet due to this seemingly non simple problem it takes over 50% longer to render videos.
If anyone can assist with this matter it'd be greatly appreciated & if you need any more info on the situation them feel free to ask.
When I use the puppet pin tool I can create one pin but if I try make a second one it crashes here are the specs

I'm editing timelapses in After Effects and rendering them through Media Encoder, but I keep encountering an issue when rendering.
See screenshot below:
the preview windows shows a "test-frame" ( i dont know what its called) and the outputted file is not usable, since it shows the same picture.
I import RAW files (14-bit from Canon 5D Mk3) as a sequence into after effects and colorgrade them, add sharpening, deflickering etc.
I then choose file -> Export -> Add to Media Encoder render queue.
My rendering settings in Media Encoder are:
Format:Quicktime
Codec: Go Pro Cineform RGBA 12-bit
Framerate: 29,97
Resolution: 5760 x 3840 (max res for Canon 5D3)
Im running on a PC, Win 10, i7 Multi-core, 64GB RAM, 7200Rpm Harddive, Geforce 980 GTX w/Cuda
I've tried nesting in After Effects (dragging my comp into a sub-comp) and that helps sometimes, but most times the renderer seem to be stuck.

Hi, new to After Effects.
In the Camera layer, I can right click on Position and click Separate Dimensions. However, if I right click on Point of Interest, Separate Dimensions is ghosted and I can't click it. How do I fix this?

I have a big issue with the trail version of After Effects CC 2015.3. Today I wanted to make a nice looking outro for a school project. We have to present it on the 24th of October. But there are two big problems: The first problem is that I can use the trail version only 7 days, and a friend of mine told me that normally the trail can be used a month and after this you have to buy it. The next problem is after updating Windows 10 I'm not able to use it, because it says: "You have 0 days left to test." But actually I would have had one day left. So I really would know why this program does this and how to fix it because I have only a few days left before I have to present it in front of my classmates and the jury of the competition. If anyone of you can help me fixing this problem quickly I would be very pleased!

When a file is previewed in After Effects, cache is generated in a Solid State Drive. When I try to delete it from there, the process is extremely slow and takes hours. But when I delete other regular files from SSD, it gets deleted really fast. Have tried various things, but unable to find a solution.
System specs: 32GB ram, i7, 2GB graphics, 1TB hard disk, 500GB SSD.

I have a null object as a camera controller and as I set keyframes for the z-position, the position movement jerks back and forth without any additional keyframes added. everything working very slow, i cant see what i do. the preview is very slow on every video, with or without any effects.
what should i do? i already chager from CPU to GPU render
and changed the memory Prefernce to the most fast option and its still the same

Hello. I am looking for a way to apply a stroke to the rotobrush selection. I have applied a stroke to the layer that has the rotobrush selection, but it askes for a path which the rotobrush selection is not a option.
What I'm trying to do: Select something in the video with the rotobrush. Applying a stroke to the rotobrushes selection. Once stroke is applied, using the start and end function to the stroke. How am I able to do this?

i have a clip in AAE, my current time indicator is at the start of the track, i double click the source name of my clip so that the layer shows up
i then go to animation > track in mocha AE...i enter in file name and hit okay, there are red brackets that look like [ ] like theres suppose to cause this clip is part of a larger video....however the frames within these brackets do not start at the same frame (or remotely close) as in my AAE layer that i was originally on

Right after Update to El Capitan 10.11 the After Effects 2015 stopped ram previewing in real time.
No matter what i do it won’t work.
I have a latest MAC Pro 2.7 GHz 12-Core with 64GB ram.
The AE 2014 still works though.

im trying to render out a 2.5min sequence that uses some 3D elements That require the Elememt 3D plugin.
ive tried both AME as a compressed H.264 file and also AE as a lossless file. In both cases the render starts as normal, decent speeds even as the camera moves across on-screen 3D elements.
But the the further the rendper goes on, the more the overall time starts to creep up. It started as a 4hr render time and after 1h 20mins rendering that time has jumped to nearly 13hrs!
im running the latest AE with the latest e3D plugin.
ive knocked down the settings to a H.264 at 720p and im still getting the same issues and I need it to be done by Sunday evening.
machine spec:
5k 27"
16gb ram
1tb flash storage
AMD Radeon R9 M395X (4096mb)
Any advice?
