After updating to 2015.3 when I try to run rubber hose an error pops up saying "Preset not found, try reinstalling the script in Support File/Scripts/ScriptUI Panels".
Has anyone else run into this problem?

Super Slow Saving time of after effect file
I just updated the latest After Effect yesterday and when I try to save my work today, it takes a few mins to save every time. It used to be just a couple of seconds.

Adjustment Layer + Bulge effect won't follow Motion Tracking?
Hey guys!
I am trying to apply a Bulge effect to the bottom of a glass shot on green screen. When applying the tracking information from the shot to the adjustment layer I can see the adjustment layer moving but the Bulge effect (which is applied to the adjustment layer) stays in the centre of the frame.
Has anyone come across this problem before and knows a work around? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, if you need more info please don't hesitate to ask!

Output folder in processing queue
Hi, I have a problem with After effects, when I finish a composition and I want to process in the processing queue, I have not to chose the folder that I want, and I can't to change the output folder, please I need help, thank you.

After Effects Download error
I am having issues installing Adobe After Effects, I get the following error when I try and download and install;

Triggering An Expression With Audio *HELP*
Look at the *VIDEO* that I have linked.
In After Effects, I made a square and animated it simply and then I Pre-Composed the shape layer.
Next I converted the song to keyframes with Trapcode Sound Keys and enabled Time-Remapping on the Pre-comp.
Then I used the pick-whip tool from the Pre-Comp Time-Remapping and connected it to the audio keyframes.
Then I wrote this expression in the Time-remap:

Now the animation the animation is exactly as the video you saw.
So the problem is that when the audio gets to intense, the animation doesn't get to finish before the next one starts. I want the animation to finish and if the audio is to intense, instead start the next animation even if the other one still is going.
So I have been trying to find an answer for this for a long time now and I have not found anything. Please Help!!

Multiple Inquiries: File Size, quality, and multiprocessing.
Hello all!!
This one is a doozy... I will give an overview of the project at hand and then my individual hiccups that are causing me grief.
Basically for my Design thesis I have an A0 composition (yes it is big) that has oh lets say about 300 to 400 layers in photoshop. I need to make a presentation and would like to include a timelapse-like video composition showing the makeup of the A0 composition from start to finish.
So, having used AE unprofessionally in the past, I know the basics and have delved into a few intricate processes, but am stunted now by my knowledge of the program and require your help. I have looked online, and have read the FAQs but have not found any answers to my satisfaction, so here goes:
I have a main comp with nested comps in it, which I am trying to pre-render in order to make the final render time shorter. Now, I have introduced my psd files into after effects having reduced their size from A0 to A2 (at 300dpi), which has already reduced the quality of the image, but not beyond unusable. The ONLY animation going on in AE is Opacity changes from 0 to 100 and a camera layer that is panning the document as all the layers come into light. That's it!
1. I read online that it is wise to pre-render in lossless so that the sub comps don't get compressed, then re compressed during the final render, lowering the overall quality of the final product. I did that... and ended up (yes i know, of course) with files 160GB thick... for 40seconds of footage. Obviously i know this is due to the extreme resolution of imagery i am using in my project (somewhere in the 7000x4000 px range) and the lossless option for output. My question, having found no other projects like this on the web, is: what would you advise me to do in order to retain a minimum of quality for my final video. I tried reducing the size of the images in AE (using the transform, constrain to height of a new HDTV 1080p comp) but that just literally scraps my images to pixelated nonsense looking stuff when the camera zooms int. I still need to zoom in with the camera at certain parts and would like the result to look prestine and clean. Any idea how i can get my A2 300dpi images looking fab in AE without having to buy terabytes of disk space? ^^
2. I am having issues with multiprocessing on my machine. I have an Asus Laptop with i7-4710HQ @2.50 GHz and 16 GB of RAM, safe to say that it is an OK machine that should give some umph to my rendering. Well, not quite. I enabled multiprocessing, gave AE permission to use 12.9 gigs of that RAM, leave 3 gigs for other programs, and allocate 1.5 gigs of RAM per background CPU, effectively utilizing 7 of the cores available. Well during my rendering, at the bottom it says AE is only using 10% of my 16gigs... and never goes higher than that. What am I doing wrong?

3D element: join paths
Hi there,
im working on a project with after effects and i'm using 3d element effect.
As you can see in the pic, the logo is composed by 2 objects : the arrows and the central part. On the right the path 0 is the arrow and the paths from 1 to 11 belongs to the central part. Is possible to join those paths into only one path? I need to create an animation and the central part must rotate as a single objct

Vietnamese characters aren't fully recognized by AfterEffects
Hello. Every time I try to copy/paste Vietnamese content into a text layer in AE (version 13.8.1.38), some special characters don't come through. I tried standard Windows fonts that naively support Vietnamese (Arial, Times New Roman, etc.) and they don't work. When I paste the text into any other Adobe product (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), special character are shown without any issues.
Does anyone happen to have a workaround and/or a solution? I contacted Adobe and they asked me to submit to to the forums (they weren't very helpful).
Special characters are displayed fine in the comp screen in the bottom left corner of AE project (as shown in my screenshot), but not in the main Comp area.

Cant see anything in composition window, not even black, just grey! AE CC 2015
Hi, I have a project Im working on, fairly simple. After everything working for a few hours, I tried to do a ram preview and suddenly nothing was happening. Then when I tried to scrub the timeline, the viewport went grey (same as surrounding interface grey). The time indicator wasn't moving, it wasn't cacheing, just nothing. I thought maybe it had crashed but I can still click on everything, add effects etc but I just can't see anything in the comp window except wireframes. And before you say it, no, I don't have the comp viewer set to wireframe mode. When I scrub the timeline now, the wireframe objects move around like they should, just without being able to see the actual result in the viewport. When I scrub, the viewport does temporarily go black but as soon as I stop scrubbing it goes back to grey. It only seems to be this project, as Im working on other projects which are fine.
Assets wise, Im using H264 from my Canon 70D (never had a problem with these), PNG seqs, MP3.
Other things Ive tried...
- purging cache
- restart
- bringing ae project into new project
- changing cache folder
- rendering (just doesn't render, then crashes if I stop it)
Nothing works.
Its not the end of the world, I can re-do everything in a few hours, but Id like to get to the bottom of it in case it happens again on a more substantial project.
Anyone else experienced this with AE CC 2015?

AE 2015.3 Start-up Screen: Is there one?
Hi Guys
I've AE 2015.3 running on two machines and I do not get the start-up/ welcome screen on either when I open AE, just a new project screen. I get a start-up on Pr, PS and other Adobe apps and have checked the 'Start-up Screen' check box in AE preferences, but nothing.
Am I overlooking something else that should be checked, is it a known bug or isn't there actually a start-up screen in AE 2015.3?

Caps lock Refresh
I am currently experiencing problems with Adobe After Effects cc 2014. Whenever I am working on a project the error message "Refresh Disabled (release caps locks Caps Locks to refresh view)". I go to check if my caps locks is on and find out it's not. Then I turn it off and on & the error message still remains. I have tried re-downloading After Effects cc, replacing my keyboard, and restarting my computer.

Issues with rendering in After Effects.
I am not too sure where to being, but it seems like the more updates I download for After Effects, the slower this whole process becomes.
I am now just under the assumption that I am missing something, or that my laptop is just seriously lacking in the departments required to use After Effects. The laptop in question is a MacBook Pro 2013-14 (not sure which.) OS all up to date (I know that's been the cause of some discussion, but the update was forced on me after a trip to the apple store.)
What should be taking me half an hour is stretching out to three, due to it simply not rendering a preview or rendering a couple seconds and simply looping it, again and again. Ive tried emptying caches and all that malarkey and I've made sure that only After Effects is open when using it, no more spotify or youtube on in the background. I can understand struggling with 4k and certain footage, but I am even struggling with footage from iPhones (I know iPhone quality has come a long way, but I don't think it should be enough to cripple my laptop.)
Any advice on where to start, or what to look into for trying to fix the issue? I know the obvious plan of action is to get a desktop, but for the next 6 months, it's not going to be possible for me.
Any help or advice is hugely appreciated.

Premiere Pro Sequence Bit-Depth in After Effects...
I understand that Premiere Pro can ingest 16-bit media, but can only deliver in 10-bit. However, as we know, After Effects can output up to 32-bit.
I have 16-bit DPX sequences that I relinked to an EDL in Premiere Pro. Essentially my main sequence is still a bunch of clips on a timeline as opposed to one long DPX sequence. Ideally, I'd like to maintain the bit-depth as I'm ultimately going to DCP and would also like a DPX master of the entire film.
Can I dynamic-link to the Premiere Pro sequence from After Effects and maintain the original bit-depth? Or does Ae automatically bring it in as 10-bit as Premiere Pro outputs as such?
I'm not quite sure if the footage automatically translates to 10-bit when ingested in Premiere Pro or only during output.
Why bring it into Premiere Pro, in the first place? Well, as far as I know, After Effects doesn't take EDLs. I still had to relink my sequence in Premiere.

unbalanced unlock ( 7 :: 40 )
Hi:
I just got an error that displays and doesn't want to go away even after I click the only OK button in the dialog box.
The error as cryptic as this is, is:
"After Effects error : unbalanced unlock. ( 7 :: 40 )
Does anybody know how to get rid of this and why did it show up in the first place?
Using Mac OSX El Capitan with the latest AECC2015 update (13.6.1.6)

Optimizing PC for After Effects
Hey all,
First post here ever so I hope I do an okay job describing my inquiry. I have two PCs that are both pretty well suited for After Effects (I believe). Specs are as follows...
i7-6900K
64GB 3000mhz RAM
2x Samsung 850 EVO 1TB
Asus Rampage V 10 Edition MoBo
Nvidia GTX 1080 GPU
1000W PSU
I already have my caching setup on my separate drive from where I am running and saving the program. My big question is how can I better optimize After Effects on this PC? Don't get me wrong it does a good job... but once you start rendering a few layers with a little bit of math it seems like it bogs down quite a bit. Often when I look at people using older versions of After Effects (in videos) it seems like everything they create renders to their drive for playback. I don't ever see this happening ahead of time on my PC. I also often see that even after playing through something it just renders to RAM (I believe RAM the bright green render marker) and very rarely to the cache. I have a 110GB cache that is not even close to full so I am not sure how this is happening. It doesn't seem there is too much support for After Effects CC users with this regard. I know they took RAM preview out which is a bummer but what am I missing here? I am using the most up to date version of AE CC as well if that matters.

Animation presets won't apply at all... from any way! - After Effects CC (2015.3)
Hi,
I have After Effects CC (2015.3) and Bridge CC (2015) , which are the latest update.
I can't apply any animation presets from Bridge, or directly from AE's Effect and Presets panel.
It simply does NOTHING.
My TEXT layer is selected, but when I try to apply the preset on it, nothing appears in the Effects Control panel.
- I've tried double-clicking on the preset in Bridge... Does nothing at all.
- I've tried right-clicking on the preset in Bridge, then click on ''Place in Adobe After Effects''... Does nothing at all.
- I've tried to drag and drop the preset from the AE's Effects and Presets panel directly on the layer, or the Effect Controls panel, ... Does nothing at all.
- I've tried to desinstall and reinstall both softwares... No difference.
I've looked everywhere to find a solution, but i couldn't find anything!
PLEASE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT I'M DOING WRONG THERE !!!
