Hi,
I've seen on the recommended page for Adobe-certified GPU card for GPU-accelerated ray-traced 3D renderer the Nvidia Geforce 780 GTX, and since you gain a little better GPU with the 780TI (more CUDA cores, etc.) I've decided to go with the 780TI.
On the preferences of AE when I choose to process Ray-tracing through the GPu instead of CPU it shows next to the GPU "(unsupported)".
Any idea on this issue?

I'm finishing setup for a greenscreen home-studio,
Most videos recommend keeping the talent 5-10 feet away from the greenscreen behind them to avoid color spill.
But I haven't seen anything mentioned about this problem when using a greenscreen desk (where the talent might literally have their elbows on the desk).
Doesn't this cause a problem with spill as well?
I'm trying to decide whether or not to paint my desktop green or just drape with a black cloth.
And is there any reason to paint the front of the desk green if my camera is going to be stationary? Would seem I could just mask that out in After Effects and put a virtual one if desired.

I would like to create a particle or 3D stroke and I would like it to move within a path, the problem is that I would like the path to be the outline of a logo.
In other words, is there a way to make a transparent logo file to be the path of a particle or a 3D stroke, and if so, how?

has anyone els experienced this error? every time i open AE cc2015.3 this error comes up and seams to make element3d to forget the original location of my elements.
More details:
taking over a titles sequence to change shots, so the animation is already done. But when i open the project this error comes up "After Effects warning: A plugin is attempting to do an invalid operation: modifying a locked project"
and the elements from element3d arent in the original position. i know this from checking the old titles seaquake provided by the producer.
my only theory is that CC2015.3 is corrupting element3d v2. I've tried to install the new element3d patch but that still does not fix the problem.
any help would be appreciated!

As in the title, My creative cloud launcher/updater appears but there is only a spinning circle and the content never loads, so I cannot update my After Effects Software. I am on Windows 10 anniversary, I have no firewall installed, other than the windows own, there are no permissions blocking it. Any help much appreciated.
I have some corporate High Resolution graphic images that are downloaded from a website in TIFF format. Its standard on how they come; in the TIFF format. I have 500 images I've downloaded. I want to import these to AAE CC 2015, however when I import any of them, I get the error:
AEGP PLUGIN UNSUPPORTED TIFF SPACE
(5027::12)
Even if I import one, I get this error and cannot proceed. My question is how do I do this? Does each image have to be manually reformatted to an accommodating format of AAE CC 2015? I thought TIFF was, and I am hoping these high resolution pictures (some 120MB+) will not have to be compromised.
CAN anyone help me with this?

Hi i have recently just got abode after effects about 3 months ago and have used it for three projects. About a month ago when ever i imported my clip and made it into a new composition, I got a white preview screen and only audio. Here is a screen shot:

hello this is really annoying me because i could preview all ram before, even if it was 0 to 1000. but now i can only run a bit of my ram preview wth? 0 to 300 and it only previews like 20-30. how can i fix this? tried everything on youtube and it isn't working.
can i make from normal video , slow mo video with Twixtor or i must already record slow mo vide for make more slower ?
how much frame rate is possible make max 1000?
and i composition and add to render queue and save as avi. but is not slow mo after save

Just installed the update but upon launch it gives me this: "After Effects can’t continue: Error while accessing the preference files inside “/Users/kevinfrear/Library/Preferences/Adobe/After Effects/13.8”, please verify the file permissions and try again." and then another window opens saying "After Effects can’t continue: unexpected failure during application startup". How do I fix this? All the other apps load up ok except for this.
Hi, new to After Effects.
In the Camera layer, I can right click on Position and click Separate Dimensions. However, if I right click on Point of Interest, Separate Dimensions is ghosted and I can't click it. How do I fix this?
When ever I start AE I am getting warning says"Ray-traceing on the GPU requires an approved NVIDA graphics card and CUDO 5.0 or later. For now, ray-tracing will use the CPU..."
Well I installed the latest CUDA 5.5.28 and restarted my computer but still getting the same warning over and over
I am using the latest OS X 10.9.1 and my Graphics is NVIDIA Quadro FX 4800 1536
I tried the GPUSniffer as some webites suggested and found my graphics (Quadro FX 4800) is already in the supported list of CUDA

I have some footage that has slight movement, and I want to use a tool like warp stabilizer for NO motion (not smooth motion). However, when I tried to use Premiere or After Effects, it would always take the foreground, rather than any of the background objects, to track. I know that After Effects uses a "mesh" per say to track objects by finding many data points, then using "artificial intelligence" to work out the difference. Is there any way that you can manually set individual tracking points for the stabilizer to use?
If you're wondering what the footage is, it's a person sitting on a bus. I would want to track several points on the bus, but After Effects thinks that tracking the person is right.
Hi there - I've 3D tracked a scene and put a bunch of text throughout and I'm noticing that the text is not firmly planted in the 3d space...meaning it shifts a bit as the camera rolls through the scene.
After I finished, I noticed that my Advanced > Solve Method was set to Auto Detect - which gave me an average error of 2.14 pixels.
My question is, when I change the Solve method to Mostly Flat Scene (which changes the average error to 1.77 pixels), do I need to go back and redo all the 3d text layers or is there a work around for this? (There's a lot of text).
I am also assuming that this may help to solve my problem of the shifting text?!

I have been trying to export a 18 min video from After Effects 13.7.1.6, but because it is so slow (estimated 34 hours) I bought a graphic's card. I was told this should make it go faster. I now wonder if I need to put something in the settings of after effects to let it know it can now use this new GPU. (because so far it has not improved the rendering)
Some info about my system. I have a Windows 7, a 16GB RAM, 64bit operating system, 3.9Gh and I am exporting to Quicktime (h.264). The name and model of the current graphic card I got is: "nvidia geforce 710". I was told by a technician that it would be better to get a graphic card rather then jumping to a 32gb RAM (also there isnt enough slots to add it so I would have to buy two 16GB rather then 4 8GB as recommended so I was told)
Also if you have any other recommendations as to how I can make this rendering go faster please let me know. Because waiting more then a day for one video just isnt good enough. I can still return the graphic card if you think I should. However I don't have a high spending budget just fyi. Also I heard Media Encoder is slower and that you should do it directly through AE. Is that true? Also please go easy with the instruction. I am still fairly new as you can tell.

My after effects program keeps crashing everytime I try to open it. This all happened when I updated it to the latest version. The first problem was a plugin I had in which I uninstalled it from AE and then tried to re-open the program. Well, then another error came up showing a crash log that said this: Last log message was: <140735114785536> <BEE_WorkQueue> <5> thread main stack size: 524288 . Please help me ASAP. I have a project that is due soon and I need after effects to finish it.
