Why is my project rendering with a different background?

Hello and thank you for taking the time to view my dilemma

 

As you can see in my photo, I have made a project using a white background

Although, after using Adobe Media Encoder, my video looks like this:

In After Effects, I use 16:9 settings with a white background. In AME, I use H.264 at medium bitrate.

I have tried changing the background to grey but still the video renders with a dark black and the writing in the animation can't be seen.

 

I am very grateful for any help you can offer !!!

I can't adjust the pixel size of a shape with 'Edit Values' dialog box

The dialog box shown on tutorials where others do this looks different in my AE than others. (The box when you right click the scale property and select 'edit value')

 

Missing is the option to specify units and then PX

EXtractoR not showing multi-passes list

For the first time, I imported exr multi-pass files. To extract the passes for compositing tweaks, I duplicated a layer with the imported exr file, thinking I need to extract a pass for each copy of the layer. I choose the 3D effect>EXtractoR, and in the effects control panel it says "Channel info (click for dialog box)". I roll over those words, and the cursor changes to a hand, BUT, on clicking, no dialog box appears. If I click on the letters below R, G or B, I get a dialog box, but the passes are not listed in the pop-ups: I only see B,G and R as a list.

 

Am I misunderstanding the process to extract each of the multipasses or not creating proper EXR files? Any help gratefully accepted.

 

I'm on a MacPro OSX 10.9.3, AE CS6. The exr file is produced from Vray in Cinema4D, and contains diffuse, specular, GI, reflection, etc.

Render Time Is Ridiculous!!!!

I am working on a project similar to Trap Nation, I am using a mix (15:30) of various songs with background equalizer and particular effect from trapcode (red giant) this video is 15:30 long and so far it has taken 4 days to render and STILL isnt done!!!!!
I am using multiframe processing, most of my ram's brain compacity, idk.

 

 

 


I am rendering in h264 1080p60fps

 

Specs of my PC:
asus 79zk
i5 4690k
16 GB DDR3 RAM
GTX 970
1 TB harddrive
250GB SSD

 

I don't know what I can do better or what Im doing wrong... PLEASE SEND HELP.

Effects controls hide

I had facing problem when working on after effects. Any shortcut to find Effect Controls window.  some time its hide and unable to find even change the workspace.

Masks Not Drawing Correctly and Mask Manipulation Not Working

Hi,

 

I've had this problem for quite a while now, and I'm absolutely fed up by it. Every time I draw a simple mask on any layer, solid, footage whatever, it will not allow me to create a proper bezier curve while drawing the mask, it just created a super tiny one that I can barely even see. AND to make matters worse, when I try and manipulate the mask that is drawn, I can't even rotate it when I've double clicked on it, it just scales it instead of rotating it. I do a lot of mask manipulation on a daily basis for ROTO to Animation so this is crucial for me and is driving me insane. Anyone have any advice?

 

PC Info: 6 core 3.4GHZ

64 GB RAM

(2) GTX 780 SLI on and off (doesn't matter)

Windows 7

AE - Latest update, but have has issues with the past years worth of updates.

Supporting Nvidia GeForce GTX 10-th series

I bought a new NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 2 GB and found that when you try to work in Ray-Traced 3d error 5070::12.

Later I realized that the problem is my graphics card in Ae.

How long have to wait for the solution to this problem from Adobe?

Is there any way to solve this problem?

Glow effect on shape layers

Hi everybody I use this topic cause to ask a suggestion about the glow effect:

 

I'm trying to reproduce this with AESchermata 2017-01-20 alle 16.08.36.png

the dashboard in the pic is realized with AE too.

I'm working on the speedometer on the left and i have to create the glow effect for the notches and i need to increase the glowing.

I created a Shape Layer to build the nothces and i applied the Glow effect to that Shape Layer but I couldn't obtain the same effect of the pic.

What can I do about it?

I'm using AE CC2015 on a Mac.

C4D File in After Effects - Frame limit?

Hi;

 

I have an after effects file where i have a C4D file placed in it. i'm rendering out the C4D file with cel renderer, so its a 3d object, with a 2d look, then in after effects having type that comes in and out in relation to the c4d objects movement.

 

I have communication turned on between the two apps so that my timeline is linked, and they are both set to 25fps.

 

However since adding to the movements and extending the amount of frames in the C4D file, these changes aren't reflected in AE. i've reloaded the footage or 'file', re-imported it onto the timeline everything. Normally if its another comp that you make longer, you just drag out the block on the timeline but whatever i do this c4d file stops in AE at 208 frames, even though the animation is 350frames.

 

I'm stuck! any ideas?

How to animate a portion of a frame in after effects

The problem is simple. I want to animate (specifically move) a specific portion of a frame to another section of the video.

 

In other words imagine a 10s video which consists of an image with a sky with clouds, and I want to take a cloud and put it in a different section of the sky. And because it just so happens the the sky's color is consistent I can fill the gap with the sky's color without making it look funny. In my case it's not a cloud but it's something equivalent.

 

I thought about cropping the cloud in the image in Photoshop put it on top of the original layer image in after effects and move it and mask-subtract the cloud from the original image and put a sky color behind to fill the gap. This is what I am going to do if the isn't another way.

Every video I render has a black background

Whenever I do an animation in AE, I can select any color I please and it changes to that color. Although, when I go to render it, the background is always black.

 

Does anybody have clues as to why this might be so?

Problem with Fx on Vector layer

I am trying to add light to my 3d logo after creating shapes from vector layers and nothing seems to apply with the layer. I have tried multiple lighting effects.

Every Composition has a default #37b0c9 background.

Hello,

 

Every single video composition I create has, by default, a #37b0c9 background. It's a color I use frequently so I'm worried it may have been a setting I entered somewhere by accident, though I've scrubbed through all my settings, to no avail.

 

This also carries through to rendering. If I'm using a pre-comp within another larger comp, and the precomp has any 'empty space' in the beginning or end, it fills the entire screen with #37b0c9, even if there is a background or video playing under or over it.

 

It's not the Background Color of the Composition, which I've been setting to Black. I've also tried clearing my settings and re-installing After Effects, also to no avail.Screen Shot 2017-02-02 at 2.06.25 PM.png

Adobe Application manager..........

Ok so i bought adobe after effects and when i first installed it everything was fine and dandy but bam, out of nowhere Application manager would say its broken or missing. I would re-download it and it would work fine for a little then again, application manager is [expletive deleted]ing broken or missing. Same goes for [expletive deleted]ing creative cloud, i would install that and get after effects working and again, it would work fine for a little and when i close creative cloud and open it back up to continue what i was doing, after effects it magically uninstalled itself.

 

Is there a fix for this [expletive deleted] show that doesn't involve me having to keep installing everything 100 times a day.

 

 

For a company like adobe i should be able to use the product i pay monthly for and not have install everything time i want to bloody use it.

Sorry for the language but their online chat support is 0 help and its not worth giving money to a company when i cant use their product.

RAM Preview limited to monitor's refresh rate?

Hi,

 

As the title suggests, I am currently experiencing issues with the RAM preview in After Effects. I recently bought a new laptop, which has a 1080p monitor with a refresh rate of 48Hz. I work in After Effects on projects with a frame rate of 60, so I of course need to preview them in this frame rate. However, whenever I try to preview something in After Effects, the info panel tells me that the playback is not in real-time, then showing the frame rate that the preview is playing back at. This is always around 48 with a variation of only 0.005 FPS maximum (so it never goes above 48.005 FPS or below 47.995 FPS). This is certainly not a hardware issue, as I have tried previewing compositions in different resolutions - I even tried a composition of 100 pixels by 100 pixels. My current workaround is to just use the skip frames feature in the preview panel, however, this doesn't give me the smooth motion that I require when working on these projects. Therefore, I am wondering if there is a fix to this issue? My specs are listed below:

 

Processor: i7 4710HQ @ 2.50 GHz

Ram: 16GB

Graphics Processor: Nvidia 860M with 4GB

current time indicator...2 questions.

Hi i have 2 questions that I hope are down to my stupidity and newness.

 

1 when i preview by pressing the space bar the preview is fine but the when the real time indicator gets to the right of the screen it just keeps going and i can't see it anymore...i would have thought or hope that the time line would scroll along so that i could see the layers at the actual point that the preview is at

 

2. when i use RAM preview, the real time indicator just doesn't move at all...preview is fine but its impossible to see the layers and time line that matches the current part of the preview.

 

After effects CC 12.1.0.168

OS 10.12.2

Adobe After Effects / Media Encoder uses too LITTLE ram?

So lately Ive been editing a Vacation Video via After Effects. I use about 7 different clips which are about 10 seconds each. I also use 6 transitions in the clip, all made with adjustment layers. I have been trying to render it but it just takes too long. I have 16GB of Ram and an Intel Xeon 1245v3 which isnt that bad for rendering. I took a look at the task manager and it seems like media encoder is only using 50% of my ram and cpu power. Is there any way to up that amount. In the After Effects Settings I already set the ram usage to max.low ram.PNG

Error message: Could not parse mask shape on clipboard

can anyone tell me why when I open a new composition, i get an error message that says, "After Effects error: could not parse mask shape on clipboard" then i click ok...brings me to a new composition, then i try to import an image and it gives me the same message only it doesnt import the image? Im brand new at this and trying to teach myself, any help woould be much appreciated

Huge MP4 sized file causes for extreme rendering times... [HELP]

Hey all,

 

I have a template i use to render videos quite often and I'm trying to add one more effect regarding a few particles like effects that I looped into a comp.  I decided to render the composition out itself so I could just bring in that looped video (1/2 a GB) to the template as a MP4 instead of it being broken out in layers.  I thought this would help with the render time but it has not.  It turned a one hour render time for a 4 minute video into a 24 hours render for that same 4 minute video through just adding one effect.  Anyone have any suggestions for severely compressing or reducing video size without harming quality too much?
