I have a layer with two "Color Control" effects,
I want to create an expression that compares the two effects, and if both have the same colors (like white #FFFFFF, for example),
"Color Control 1" is black, or other color which I choose.
And "Color Control 2" remains the same color.
Well... To my surprise today after updating last week, I got to use After Effects for updating to tv show sequences for the upcoming air season. After rendering these sequences out, quitting and starting up FCPX 10.2.2, I noticed that FCPX wasn't responding. I have to Force Quit FCPX. Before I go any further, here's my system specs:
2015 iMac 5k Retina with secondary Thunderbolt Apple monitor
Core i7 3.2 ghz processor
32 gig RAM
MacOS 10.10.5 Yosemite
Adobe CC 2015 (latest release)
AJA Io XT 12.3.7 drivers Thunderbolt connection
2 Promise Pegasus 12TB RAID daisy chained Thunderbolt
Ok... Back to the issue. I looked to make sure that everything was up to date. No... I have not upgraded to El Capitan just yet. When I no longer had any control of my AJA Io XT, I looked in its control panel app and it reported that the device was still in use but After Effects, even though, After Effects is NOT running. The ONLY way to release the device is to reboot my computer and I have to do this every time I use After Effects until this issue is repaired. I have repaired my permissions and run several utility apps checking for issues. None were found.

I've been having a hard time after I downloaded the Could. That is, After Effects won't stat up. I have a class about this program, and I purchased the cloud because the cloud has after effects in it's bundle. Thus making this problem very frustrating... Please help with what can be, and thank you

Has anyone experienced the following issue and found a solution for it?
Right after Update to El Capitan 10.11 the After Effects 2015 stopped ram previewing in real time.
No matter what i do it won’t work.
I have a latest MAC Pro 2.7 GHz 12-Core with 64GB ram.
The AE 2014 still works though.
While scrubbing on my timeline, it jumps from second to second. It is not a smooth transition down the timeline. When I press the play to preview, the animation is extremely fast. How do I unlock the scrubbing to flow smoothly and why does it play so fast? Running AE CC with new update 13.6.
I've created the effect I want in AE, and I want to overlay it onto a video in Premiere. However, when i try exporting the AE file and adding it to Prem. It keep the black background I had in AE. I've tried linking comps between Prem and AE and its not working. I've tried adding the clip my effect will go on into AE and thats not working. I don't know what to do
I subscribed to Adobe creative cloud for the Adobe After effects. I did the install and when i try to open AE it gives me an error reading this: The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Now i have tried un installing it and re-installing it 3 times. I am running Windows 10 on my PC. It's a HP with a AMD Phenom(tm) II x4 820 Processor 2.80 GHz 8.00GB Ram and 64-bit Operating System. I don't know what to do. I have done a lot of research and i cannot find any answers anywhere. I already had CS5 installed and that works. The Media encoder that comes with Creative Cloud AE also works. What is the problem why will AE not open. I am very frustrated and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I like it very much, but I'd like to make some changes to the transition effect between two slides.
However, I don't seem to find how I can do this. My final output window shows five layers of which I'm using three. I've been turning all three of them on and off, but none of them seemed to have any influence on the transition effect itself.
I'm working with After Effects CS6.
Could anyone help me on this?

I have been using after effects for along time but only recently has this problem occurred. I have a short clip (.mov) file with no audio in my timeline. I would like to add audio to this, so i drag my Music file down (used Tried both .mp4 and .mp4) and i crop it to the wanted lengh/time. But about 3 quarters into the clip the music cuts out for a couple of seconds then kicks in again (once the clip has ended). I have no idea why this is happening and its beginning to get very frustrating. I can supply a video via youtube if need be.

Since the most recent update, I'm now seeing a problem when dragging layers in more complex comps. If I drag and release the mouse button but continue to move the cursor, the delay in updating the scene causes the dragged layer point to further move AFTER the mouse button has been released. It's as if the mouse button release is being processed after the scene is computed and not first (if that makes sense?). I see this constantly in fast paced operations - such as quickly dragging out layers to the end of the comp (which is quicker than selecting, moving the the end of the comp and setting the out point) - the end of the layer will invariably move back a bit to the left as the mouse cursor moves back.
This didn't happen in the previous versions although I have seen it in older releases.
Anyone else seen this?

I'm working on an animation and almost finished the project with everything working just fine.
But now suddenly today audio has stopped working entirely in After Effects.
RAM preview is playing without sound (although Audio is checked ON in the menu), i can't hear anything while scrubbing with Cmd key...
The waveform is still there and the audio for the layer is turned on...
But NO sound can be heard at all within After Effects... same in totally different projects which i finished earlier just fine with working audio, now nothing to be heard.
I'm on After Effects cs5.5 on El Capitan. I restarted After Effects, Restarted entire mac... no sound.
Anyone have any clue where i can find a solution? Searching the web mostly gives back tips on how to use RAM previews etc, but i know all that stuff, it just stopped working today!
Edit: Audio stopped working in premiere also! Aaaargh!
After Effects CC 2015 viewer doesn't update after ctrl+z.
I have a simple rect shape that I have tried to transform using Rect transforms or transform effect. While working and trying to Ctr+Z look does not change.
Its impossible to work.
Hi, guys, after I import my illustrator files into after effects, each layer remains 2 frames in length and I can't drag them to become longer than that. Has anyone ever encountered this problem and how can I solve this? Thanks!
So here's a list of bugs that are driving me nuts and for a 'professional' piece of software should not exist at all if you tested your updates properly! This has caused me a lot of problems and I am considering cancelling my subscription at this point.
Firstly, interlaced rendering doesn't work properly. Everything is badly aliased. This has not been fixed in your latest update. Essentially for broadcast interlaced work we are screwed.
Sending from interlaced Adobe to Media Encoder for rendering produced an interlaced file but with duplicated fields. Again, no good at all!
I have just installed the update and none of the above issues are fixed and now I have TWO MORE issues
Colour space coming back from AE is not being rendered as REC709 in avidDnxHD codec. It's keeping it full. So I have to switch back to make legal in Avid and this causes slight shift and nothing matches.
Interface is screwed up. Using either my wacom pen or mouse it suddenly decides to lasso everything and anything and none of the usual buttons or keys work so al of a sudden my mouse is moving everything around and I can't stop it without continuous clicking and banging my fist in frustration!
As pro software this is now useless to me and I'm paying a hefty sub for it! What the hell happened to your quality control??

Using AE CC on a MacBook Pro, adding motion blur to a fast-moving footage layer in a comp. Both the comp and layer motion blur toggle are on, but no blur is added. Force motion blur has the same non-result.
Hi. My AE is crashing on startup showing me this message: After Effects can`t continue:sorry,After Effects has crashed. (0 :: 42). I am using windows 7, 64 bit. Help
Is anyone else having this problem?
AE used to work perfectly with my wacom tablet... But now when ever i click a key frame hold it on the board and move it to where I want and release AE does not release the key frame... it is still tied to my pen and is now moving all over the timeline where ever I move the pen... I have to click the pin on the surface a bunch to let the key frame go...
At first I was thinking this was a problem with the tablet but now I don't think so because I have tested it with other programs and just using it on the desktop its fine... can drag and drop items perfectly...
It's just when in AE... It does not want to let go of the key frames... Any idea's... What a bummer...

whenever I try to import my Adobe Premiere Pro Project into After Effects I get the following error
The reason for this is that I have implemented AE sequences in the Premiere Project before. When I import this now (AE sequences should be placeholder, right?) it creates this error.
If I delete the AE sequences in the Premiere Project and import then I don't get the error and everything works fine.
Maybe this helps Adobe to fix this problem and anyone who also got it.
