Preview doesn't seem to be working correctly... it won't update until I manually clear the cache, sometimes it just previews black or just won't update. None of the new preview buttons work as far as video, audio or overlays. It previews audio even if it's muted, same with the video eyeball. Basically I'm finding I have to keep manually clearing the cache in order for the preview to work. Anyone else having these issues ??

"Sync Settings Now..." clears my settings
When I klik on "Sync Settings Now...", a window pops up asking if I want to clear my settings ("... revert to default settings.").
Is this the correct behaviour since it has the same function as "Clear Settings..."

Tracking chroma key
Hi everyone !
I'm asking this question here because i have a big issue, it's been weeks now and i can't solve it.
I have shot this scene with a canon mark II with magic lantern in raw.
I wanted to do camera tracking to then import it in cinema 4D to integrate the guy in a full 3D environment.
I was not able to find another method than this one so i made these orange marks on the screen so the 3D camera tracker marks can attach to it. The issue appears at the end of the tracking, it says "Analysis solve failed".
The first time i tested it, it was not shot in raw and there was only soft natural light but it worked ! I have seen the common problems, the camera is not too shaky and i think there is enough points (maybe the issue is here but i can't really add more points).
Do you have a solution? Maybe another way to do it?

After Effects CC2015 not visually refreshing (until prompted)
I'm having this issue where I make a change to my comp, let's say, for example adding a new solid, and it simply doesn't appear. It appears as a layer in the time line but doesn't appear on the stage. How ever long I wait it just doesn't show up....until I click somewhere on the timeline, which then seems to REMIND After Effects that it is supposed to be displaying it on the screen. Sure, this happens mainly in quite a busy project and I'm not impatient, I don't mind waiting for the frame to render, but if I don't click the timeline, often it simply doesn't register the change.
It happens when moving objects with the arrow keys too. I can keep holding down the arrow key and nothing is happening, then I click the timeline and suddenly my object jumps to the other side of the screen - the place I had moved it to, but couldn't see.
It used to be that when I was waiting for a frame to preview, there would be a progress bar. And for really busy projects it would take a long time. That was fine because at least I could see that something was happening. Right now I can be waiting and realise that nothing is happening at all. Changing the preview mode to quarter doesn't seem to fix this.

Clone Stamp Source Position with Shortcut? Shortcut Command needed
Hi
Is there a way to move the clone-stamp-position with a shortcut?
I have a clip of footage running on a race-track, with a dust-spot. So I select the same area in the frame before and stamp it on the position of the next frame. Works fine.
But the movements change, as the track has curves. So I have to adjust the position of the are that I stamp with the two values from "Source Position".
- Stamp is not aligned, so "Aligned" is turned off.
I can of course move the source material, but the "source position" remains the same. So I move the area until the two identical parts are over each-other, but after a few frames the are that I stamp is offset. So now I drag the two numbers for left-righr and up-down of the "Source Position" until the stamping area is over the desired spot.
If I could move that with a shortcut I hold, meaning the source material now stays put, and the stamp area I can move. That would ramp up the speed dramatically,
Any ideas?
P.S.
The shortcut I found in AE Shortcut-List does not work (same result as not pressing those buttons):
Show and move overlay (change Offset value of aligned Clone Stamp tool or change Source Position value of unaligned Clone Stamp tool) //// Option+Shift-drag with Clone Stamp tool

hexagonal pattern
Hi, does anyone know how to create this type of pattern? Basically, I need a large hexagonal pattern where the hexagons have different opacities/brightnesses that I can subtly animate to look like a shimmer.

Latest update (13.6) major problems
AE 13.6.0.165 on Windows 10 (haven't updated yet my osx workstation).
Issues happened on a 13.5 project and on a brand new project file also.
I'm having severe problems (Machine restarted after update and before worked all day long without issues with the 13.5):
- biggest one is "undo" not working most of the times, breaking positioning of the elements I'm working on. Undo do not work on everything and all the times, making very very hard to work.
- preview not updating most of the time (need to purge memory&disk EVERY 3 previews, or preview displayed is still the last one). Same happens with pre-caching or without.
- sometimes layer remain visible even if out point is reached in timeline
- visibility issues when I turned on a and off a layer (position values shifted suddendly)
- had to apply effects (cycore, not 3rd party) 2 times and before effect is applied.
I think this is all related to a persistent cache problem.
When these problems happened (all the time) I needed to purge disk&memory or even restart AE to continue working.
As a note, I uninstalled accidentally the 13.5 because I missed the radio button "keep previous version".
I hope Adobe will reconsider and display an alert or something more visible next time when you click "update all".
Anyone experienced these major issues?

Realtime Playback stopped working and suddenly Can't select layers.
Strange - AE suddenly no longer plays back the composition in Real Time. Also, i cant select layers in the layers panel. it switches the layer order around and wont allow me to select anything. This just started happening. It was fine an hour ago and then it was shot. I have updated AE, restarted my comp, renamed the project and I can't get it to work properly.
Also, it will no longer play in realtime.

magnification ratio
If i have mulitple views I usually use my scroll wheel to magnify or zoom in and out. Today I have noticed that I can now only do this with one viewer. Any other viewer I have to do it with the actual ratio popup. If I try to scroll zoom it only effects the one viewer whether or not it is selected and even if it is locked. Any idea why?

Slow playback on Preview
Hi,
I just downloaded Version 13.6.0.165.
I now have an issue of playback playing slowly (as if the frame rate has gone down significantly) when previewing any content. The timeline (or portion of it) has cached, but it still plays as almost half speed. The audio does not stutter at all - as it should do if struggling to preview everything.... It just sounds strangely slowed down and drawn out! I have checked all frame rates, and tried very simple compositions, to ascertain if the RAM was struggling, but its simply not the case.
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as it makes AE currently un-usable for me!

After Effects Application was unable to start correctly 0xc0000142. Does anyone know how to solve this error?
I believe this issue has been raised by other people, though a precise answer continues to allude me. On opening Adobe After Effects I get the message: "Application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Does anyone know how to rectify this problem. I am currently paying £45 per month for several adobe apps via Creative Cloud, none of which currently work. This is very frustrating. Please help!!!!

While using After Effects it crashes and says: "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered"

Since i upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 I'm having this issue when working on Pr or Ae. After having this message, After Effects closing or it shows video black in playback. Have you got any solution for this? I added screenshot below;

Audio preview stutters
The audio preview plays very choppily in CS 2015. Even a 5mb .aif or .wav file, which plays fine in CS2014 and CS6, plays stuttering. Any ideas? Buffer is set high. 32GB RAM allowed to AE. Audio also plays choppy through regular timeline preview with audio turned on.
Also, after audio preview, timeline marker doesn't return to original spot like it used to in previous AE... that setting somewhere?

Wiggler Unresponsive in After Effects CC
I recently installed AE CC on my Mac desktop and laptop. The desktop is an iMac 2012, OSX 10.8.3 and the laptop is a Macbook from 2008, same OS. For some reason, the Wigglers (any of them) in After Effects don't work on my iMac but they do work on the laptop. I deleted my preferences but that didn't work. When I apply any of the Wigglers and then preview, the numerical values change as they should but there's no visual animation. This also happens on another iMac under a different Adobe ID. Why does the Wiggler work on my old laptop, but not the two new desktops I tried? How can I fix this? Thank you!

Issues with Libraries in CC 2015
I am importing PS objects from Libraries in to After Effects. Which is working fine. But when I share both my Library and file with someone else. All the Library files are missing.
As I understand it. I have to import the psd objects to AE (which places them locally on my hard drive - C:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Adobe\After Effects CC 2015\User Libraries\
Even when the same PS objects are imported again. They are not updated.
When sharing Photoshop files using Library assets it works fine.
Is there any way around this?
