Working with after effect on server

hi everyone.

6 years ago I've been working with after effect with 4 stations having projects and files on a Xsan server.

I experienced a slowdown in opening projects and every working process.

in these days I'm going to buy a server (with quick enough disks) connected with 10gb lan.

off course today all the stations  have 32gb ram ans ssd system disks.

i'm working on OsX

Do you think the 3/4 stations can work on the server with after effect as fast as having all the stuff in local disks?

AE CC 2014.1 error : internal verification failure (Unexpected match name searched for in group)

Hi,

 

First of all, forgive me for my basic english.

I'm a creative cloud suscriber and recently update AE with CC2014.1.

I worked for several months on a project, but since last update, on some composition, i have an error windows pop in who say :

 

"After effects error: internal verification failure, sorry! {unexpected match name searched fo in group}

i have look everywhere but i can't get any info on this issue, and there is no support for after effect.

 

I can't afford to loose all those hours of work, may some of you have some information / solution about that ?

Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope !

Wacom Tablet not letting go of Key frames anymore :(

Is anyone else having this problem?

 

AE used to work perfectly with my wacom tablet... But now when ever i click a key frame hold it on the board and move it to where I want and release AE does not release the key frame... it is still tied to my pen and is now moving all over the timeline where ever I move the pen... I have to click the pin on the surface a bunch to let the key frame go...

 

At first I was thinking this was a problem with the tablet but now I don't think so because I have tested it with other programs and just using it on the desktop its fine... can drag and drop items perfectly...

 

It's just when in AE... It does not want to let go of the key frames... Any idea's... What a bummer...

Work with Comp created by Import or create a new one?

This may seem like a really wierd question -

I'm importing an AI file with 7 layers and will animate the character (it has the 7 layers) Here's a crazy simple question. When I import as a Composition -  In the project window I get a folder with the artwork/AI layers and a composition which has all the layers that match the .ai layers.

Should I be working on the Composition that is automatically created - or should I create a second composition, keeping the first comp as a "clean" version.

Apologies if that sounds like a dopey question. Thanks!

how to track in 3d

hi, so ive been watching some tutorials but cant seem to do it right

 

after right clicking on the composition and hitting "track camera" i got it to work and i have the 3d points, however it seems i do not have the 3d tripoints that u get with the red circle(maybe im doing something wrong here)...i go right click on 1 of the points and create a null object...i then try to parent a layer to that null object(just like when using the 2d motion tracker).....but it doesnt work

 

what am i doing wrong

I have been working on learning how to use Adobe After Effects CS6 and it has been alot of fun, so I have decided to buy it! Except now... I ran in to an issue when I tried to place an effect on a portion of a layer to see if anything would happen; something horrible happened. There is a really annoying pop-up that will not go away! It reads: "After Effects error: overflow converting ratio denominators. (17 :: 18), and it has a red circular icon with a white exclaimation mark in the middle of it. This would be great if it was actually doing anything other than piss me off! It will not go away when I 'dismiss' it by pressing OK, and I fear that I will lose my footage now. I will be buying a different program 100% if I cannot fix this problem or get it explained, so for the sake of Adobe's consumer record, would anybody be kind enough to assist me? Thanks alot, I will be following up on this ASAP.

After Effects Windows 10 Bluescreen "Driver Power State Failure"

Hey guys,

I have problems with my new laptop.

All Adobe applications run without problems! But once I start After Effects freezes my system (Windows 10) and crashes after a few minutes. The message on the blue screen is "Driver Power State Failure".

 

I use After Effects CC2015 with Windows 10 Education with the following configurations:

 

Nvidia GTX 960M ( latest driver)

16GB RAM (checked with Memtest86--> No Errors)

All drivers are up to date...

 

 

Maybe someone knows the problem and has a solution?

I tried until now: reinstall all the drivers, reinstall Windows and of course a new installation of After Effects. Unfortunately no results ...

 

Maybe I can post the crash report (minidump)?

Fuzzy and Distorted when Rendered thru Media Encoder

Does anyone have an explanation as to WHY this happens on occasion?  It's very random....sometimes every 3-4 projects....sometimes doesn't happen until 20 projects later.

I've started getting this error message every time I quit After Effects (I updated to 13.6.1 today and I'm still getting it, I started getting it on the previous update). I have to dismiss several instances of the error message every time.

 

The projects re-open no problem and everything seems to be fine.

 

It just happened on a project that has a single comp consisting of a psd as a guide layer, a video layer with Keylight, levels, and hue and saturation effects applied, and a looping background later. No exotic effects or anything.

 

Anyone else getting this? Any idea what the cause and/or solution is?

 

iMac (27-inch, Late 2013)

3.5 GHz Intel Core i7

32 GB 1600 MHz DDR3

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M 4096 MB

El Capitan 10.11.2

Change a color to white

Hi,

 

I'm new to AE so please bare with me.

I have a car that is white with a big logo on it. I want to remove the logo of the car.

I can't use the "change to color" effect because white isn't in the hue spectrum  and besides that it isn't a color.

 

I tried duplicating the movie-layer, create a mask of another white part, and placed it over the logo but that just didn't work because of the shades over the car paint.

 

Any ideas how to deal with this?

Can't open or start After effects on my new MAC

Hi I just bought the new MAC book pro and I've tried installing Adobe after effects cs6 with the CD and also from the download link online but I still can't get it to open.

When I used the CD it gave error message that this version wont work with new Mac OS

and when I tried the link it downloads but when you click launch now it just disappears, can someone help me get this up and running? thank you very much

Footage randomly turns Green?

I've downloaded some YouTube videos using sites like savefrom and keepvid, and when I download at any other resolution other than 720p (which is recommended), it becomes a plain green screen when imported (I can watch them fine outside of Premiere Pro). When I import 720p, it's completely fine. Does anyone know this is doing that?

OS: MacOS Sierra 10.12

Computer: MacBook Retina 13-Inch (some i5 chip that apple doesn't tell you @ 2.7GHz, 8GBs of nondescript DDR3 RAM, Integrated Intel Iris Graphics (1.5GB of VRAM)

how to match 2 tracking points?

Hello,

 

how can I match the tracking points of two different objects. I would like to match to movements.

 

(Basically I have 2 slow traveling shots along a window, each with different illumination. I would like to match the two windows...)

nVidia GTX970m Intel HD Integrated Graphics Issue

Been struggling for a while to get this sorted.  Had the laptop custom build in the UK.  It's a beast, really great laptop and apart from the screen tearing and render lag issues until now, it's been great.

 

Both the latest versions of AF 2014 and 2015 didn't like the GTX card at all.  I got serious screen tearing and sync issues, even after updating nVidia and Cuda drivers.

I ended up forcing afterfx.exe to use the Intel HD integrated graphics and it seem to have sorted most of my render issues.  No more screen tearing, no more sync issues.

 

Kinda bumbed that the GTX and AF don't want to play together.  Anyone else have similar issues with nVidia cards?

Texture issues with C4D Lite

Szalam,

 

Off topic a little.  But I have seen you on different sites and your knowledge seems strong.

 

I am new to 3D modeling and have a lot to learn.  When I render a model I have made in 4D lite it shows concrete with great detail, but, when I render and/or export in AE it just sows as a gray surface.  Do you know what would be causing this, if it is the way things are and do you know a work around?

Track matte still displaying shadows

Hi there,

 

I have some text with a track matte applied, so that the shape above it acts as a mask. This works fine, apart from that the shadows of the text still gets rendered, which looks awful. How can I stop the shadows from being rendered?
