Hello,
I got a problem that is lasting for two weeks now about the launch of After Effect, I got this message :
After Effects (alert) : Impossible to access to the resource 'DVAColorThemesV2' (xml type)
Then, After Effects opened a window telling me that it doesn't work and couldn't open the software.
MY OS is OS X El Capitan on Mac, and i can't find DVAColorThemesV2 anywhere on my computer. I uninstall and install again the software, but it still doesn't work.

Anytime I add a Sapphire effect I get a beach ball and an eventual crash. I have no idea what this error message means and Google didn't help.
I've tried the basics (re-install Sapphire, wipe preferences, reinstalled AE) none of those worked.
Anyone have any ideas?

I just downloaded the latest version of AE CC and discovered it won't playback previews. When the play button is pressed, it seems to load into ram but when it comes time to playback, nada. I loaded a project that was created before the upgrade and the comps preview fine but when I create a new comp in the project it won't play. If I bring that comp into a previously created comp (before the upgrade) it will play within the old comp.

PLEASE PLAEASE PLEASE HELP!!!!
I am trying to install a previous version of After Effects CC and I have read that the default settings
when you update a program it removes all previous versions.
I need the older version so CINEWARE will work because I have also read that the new updated do not support 3-rd party apps that well and mine doesn't not run CINEWARE
.I have uninstalled and re-installed the entire CC and have yet to find an answer.
??Does anyone know either how to retrieve previous versions that have already been removed, or fix the Cineware problem. ??

Hey everyone,
i'm trying to rendering an .mov file at 17600 x 64. I t is for a hockey arena power ring, which is an LED panelled board running around the rink. When i try rendering it through after effects, the final .mov is all black and I'm not too sure why. If anyone has any answers it would be greatly appreciated.

Can i take chroma keyed footage from Premiere into AE, with the BK still keyed in AE (is there a way to bake the footage or anything?)?
I could use Keylight in AE, but I already have learned how to do it in Premiere.

I'm trying to accomplish something using an expression (pretty sure I can do what I'm trying to accomplish with one) but as I'm reading tutorials on expressions I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it.
What I'm trying to do is create an expression that will set the X position parameter of a layer to (960+(anchor point x value) of the same layer, while leaving Y alone. I can't quite understand the context of how the expression code is being explained on the tutorials I'm reading. Could someone who knows expressions give me an example of how to accomplish this, so I can try to pick apart the context and maybe do it myself next time?

I am getting these weird errors with expressions I have always used for reasons I can not explain. Any idea how to fix this?
Hey folks! Question for all the more knowledgeable people than myself. I am running After Effects CC 2015. I run Windows 10, 64 bit system. 12 Gigs of ram, and about 100 gigs left of space. Everything was working perfectly fine a few weeks ago. I was importing some footage shot on my Canon Rebel camera, 1080P at 24 frames per second, and was getting rid of some dead pixels. I would send it to the render Queue, and then export it to my computer, and I'd have a great looking video.
However, now when I try to do the same thing, the video (once rendered) is choppy and plays back in slow motion. I even find sometimes the play back in AE is choppy and in slow motion. Now there has to be a reasonable explanation for this. Nothing has changed with my system, and each file I export is only about 2 gigs, nothing overly insane. It was working fine before.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

is there any way when rodobrushing to prevent AE from making the same mistake over and over again every frame? as in lets say im rodoscoping a face and AE accidently thinks that a little bit of his white collar shirt is part of the face, ill erase that white collar part and then move on to the next frame but the next frame catches the white collar part again....i thought the change i made would be recalculated by AE when AE automates the next frame but apparently not, or im doing it wrong
is there a way to disallow certain colors from entering the rodoscope or have the rodo take into account what ive changed when estimating the next frame? is there a difference between hitting space bar or to hit 1 or 2 to rodo?
I'm new to AE CS5 and I'm learning it as I go. I wanted to make a quick video where a blood vessel pops in someone's eye. What method would you suggest? Can it be done completely in AE or would I need other programs? Thanks to anyone that can help.

So I'm creating an animation in AE, but first I wanted to create a custom logo in Illustrator. It's a simple word and rectangular box outline. I had separated the text as individual shapes so that I could manipulate each one manually in AE. 
Having separated each shape into its own layer I saved the file. I only used ONE artboard. The background is obviously not black, and it's in RGB colorspace not CMYK. Going into AE I import the file with the following setup:
All layers import. The problem is that they are all black when I open the composition.
If anyone can please answer this question it would be greatly appreciated as I haven't found the correct answer after searching the forums for the last couple hours.

So, when i try to install after effects, it starts normally, then when it reaches a VCRedist_x86 2008 or so, it freezes and the time just keeps going up and up and up, i have all the VCRedist version that are needed. Specs: Win 7 64bit, Intel Celeron G1820 2.7Ghz dual core CPU, 6gb DDR3 ram, GeForce 9600GT 512mbVram gpu, 300GB HDD and thats it. Thanks in advance

I am making a short film, and I need some help with one of my shots. Attached I have three different images. One is the original with the poster not resized, the next is the resized version, and then there's one where I'm in front of the poster. My query is how to keep the poster resized while allowing my figure to move around the frame. It seems like it may be very simple but I have no experience in after effects at all.
Important notes:
As for how I resized the poster, I made another layer, cropped everything but the poster and made it larger (in Premiere)

so when i rodoscope a figure, despite the fact that the rodoscoped rectangular frame itself isnt moving, the figure is still moving within that frame....so if that figure is a head or an arm or a leg, and i want to precisely place it on another person....how would i get it to stick? if i were to motion track and parent this rodoscoped object onto something, yea the frame of the object will stick, but theres movement within that frame which makes the figure im actually trying to capture move out of place

I created a project in After Effects and then export it for Adobe Premiere Pro. When I try and open in Adobe Premiere Pro, it says there are missing third-party components and it comes up blank?

seit längerer Zeit habe ich Probleme mit After Effects. Anfangs konnte ich noch zum Beispiel Partikelanimationen oder Keying verwenden.
Sobald 3D Animationen angelegt wurden stürzte das Programm jedoch sofort ab.
Inzwischen ist kein Arbeiten mit After Effects mehr möglich, bei jeder Anwendung von Filtern etc. stürzt das Programm ab oder das Vorschaubild wird weiß. Ich habe After Effects bereits Neuinstalliert und Treiber aktualisiert.
Mir ist aufgefallen, dass openGL in den Einstellungen nicht als aktiv angezeigt wird bzw. der Haken gar nicht vorhanden ist. Woran kann das liegen? Die Grafikkarte sollte openGL unterstützen.
Ich hoffe Ihr könnt mir weiterhelfen, hier mein System:
Windows 10
AMD Phentom II X2 511, 3400MHz, 2 Kerne
16 GB Ram
AMD Radeon R7 370 Series mit 4096mb

I'm about to release a music video, and i have rendered the video with FPS of 24, mpeg4, i render it out with H.264 YouTube 1080p HD via Adobe Media Encoder CC. But somehow when i upload the video on youtube it is laggy and the quality not as nice as that when i play it locally on my PC. When i watch other music videos on youtube they are all smooth and nice HD. Why is my video laggy? There is something they are doing right and i am doing wrong but i can't figure it out
I'm unable to do collect from an AE project.
when ever I start doing collect with all the right settings(default settings)
I get an error message saying AE is unable to find a file: everything a different file, everytime a file that is not missing, it is there in the folder that AE reports he can't find, then the collect process begins ending with AE creating the new folder with all the files relevant to the collect being copied to the Footage folder but the only thing that is missing is the new AEP file.
this happened in both AE 2014 (13.0) and AE 2015 (13.5.1)
