I am currently experiencing problems with Adobe After Effects cc 2014. Whenever I am working on a project the error message "Refresh Disabled (release caps locks Caps Locks to refresh view)". I go to check if my caps locks is on and find out it's not. Then I turn it off and on & the error message still remains. I have tried re-downloading After Effects cc, replacing my keyboard, and restarting my computer.

Art - Stick Figure Not Showing - Only Pin Markers showing? Duik Attempt!
I was trying to learn how to rig a character in DUIK. I'm at the stage just before setting up the Auto Rig. But now, all I can see in my composition window is the screenshot below. Just the red marks representing the Pins -- or - I may have already turned them into bones (just learning this). I can no longer see the artwork which was on the Layers - which was simply a green line representing body of a stick figure and and inverted V below - the legs of stick figure. (all imported from .ai file.
I have now idea how to view them to see if the pins are working - and no idea where those green lines went, I see the Layers themselves (with the art) if I ushy them - but can't see the art in the composition window -- just those remarks indicating the Pins.
Does anyone have any idea what went wrong? Many thanks!
P.S. This reminds me of the time the screen went black when I hit caps lock - and had no idea of that key's effect. The AE ARGH!

Preview strange when working in 60fps
My composition is 60fps. And I found out this is what happen:
When I press spacebar for preview, it will play in 24fps (it will be like slow motion).
This is the same like when I press play button in preview panel.
But when I press spacebar + shift it will play in 60fps:
The shortcut is still spacebar only:
Is this a known bug?

Wiggle Expression
I am trying to create sort of a melting effect, but don't want it to just fade away, so I added a wiggle expression. My problem is is that it wiggles then just goes back to zero (as in the effect completely goes away momentarily.) How can I keep it from going below a certain value?

3D Text, pictures etc ignore camera tracking
So, about a week ago i started with After Effects, and after I figured out you can track the camera and make text stick to the ground in a 3D perspective, i tried it myself. However after watching multiple tutorials and trying for days, I can't seem able to make my text "stick" to the tracking points. when i select a set of 3 or more tracking points that seem to be wel placed, right click it and select: "create camera and text", I get my text and my camera and i can rotate and position the text however i like, but when i play my footage , the text just stays in the same place on the screen instead of sticking to the point I want it to stick to. I have been searching for days, but i can't seem to find a solution. pls help .
Also, every time I close AE, the app crashes.

Dynamic Link Isn't useable?
Trying to use the dynamic link to Adobe After Effects, but the link isn't enabled. It's slightly faded so I can see that I can't click on it, but I'm not sure why? I have Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Adobe After Effects CC, so I'm not sure why I can't use the dynamic link?

How can I start my motion portfolio
Hi guys.
I want to apply Motion Graphic graduate program in Fall 2017, and my deadline of handing out my portfolio is 2017/1/10.
I have knowledge of both making animation(3D&2D) and writing code. (I was a game designer)
My Question is, I need to make 1 showreel, 3 motion video, 1 introduction video, but I have only left 2 months to prepare all of these stuff.
I have been watched various tutorial videos on youtube for a couple of days, but I still don't know how to make my portfolio, I have no idea how to start it.
I wonder know that what way to learn AE and finish the portfolio is the efficient way for me?
I am thinking to use a lot of templates, and then revise them to my own works. Is this a bad way to learn AE? or many of you are doing these things too?
What is the correct way to learn AE?

Sonar Ping and Office Light Effect with Text
Hello, Im trying to use either Sonar Ping or Office Lights effect with Text for the opening credits of a Horror trailer, anyways I want to use the effect for a couple of seconds then stop, have the text normal then have blood slowly drip but I cant figure out how to get the Sonar Ping or Office Light Effect to stop, I dont see any start or end stopwatch keyframes so when I apply the effect it just keeps going and going.
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated

Pen Tool
I was trying to use the pen tool and create a mask to give the illusion where something drips, anyways when i used the pen tool earlier in the day its default setting was that in went down in the direction i dragged it, but i scrapped that version and started all over again and this time when i go to do the same thing and try to drag it down lines go in both directions both up and down but i just want it to go down, does anybody have any idea of how to have it just one single line going the direction u drag it, any help would be greatly appreciated

Mapping a 2D image on a solid without losing resolution (After effects)

can I export AE text (one frame from an animation) into illustrator?
Hello, I'm trying to export a still frame from animated text from AE to Illustrator - I'd been told its a simple copy paste but getting a message saying:
"After Effects must have keyframes selected from one layer in order to export them as text."
I've tried this but not sure what it means - has anyone been successful doing this? Seems like its a pretty basic/useful function.

Can't open footage in mocha AE
After updating my Mac OS X to the new Sierra, I have not been able to import footage from After Effects to mochaAE. When I have a clip selected and go to Animation->Track in mocha AE, it just opens an empty MochaAE project without my footage.
Anyone encountered this? My After Effects is completely updated.

Strange new crashing
Hi There
I am recently having problems with an external drive, i', thinking its a permissions issue.
When i import files from my external G drive and then save a project it crashes. Move the same file to my desktop and save and its fine.
I also cant collect a project to the drive, although i have always used it that way in the past.
Tried switching it off and on, and having a coffee whilst i wait - no joy.
I want to use my new 4TB drive, but similar issues.
Please help

Having to Reinstall Creative Cloud and After Effects
I recently purchased the monthly subscription for After Effects on the Creative Cloud. I purchased this 2 days ago and every time I try to launch After Effects it makes me reinstall the Creative Cloud and After Effects. This is extremely frustrating. I have uninstalled then reinstalled these two items 9 times now. I went to use my programs today (after reinstalling both) It is trying to get me to repurchase my subscription.
