Bad Frames in AE Cache

I've been having a recurring issue on multiple machines running up-to-date after effects installs. It seems bad frames are being stored in the cache. These generally don't show up during preview, but only during render. It might be a frame from the end of the sequence, but it shows up at the beginning. Or something from another sequence or project entirely. It is only detectable in the final render.

 

Purging the cache directly before rendering resolves the problem, at least temporarily. Though I have had the same frame show up again on the same sequence.

 

I assume this is related to the new preview function. It is, to not put to fine a point on it, a disaster. I have never been concerned with the integrity of an after effects render in the past. I am now generally concerned about deliveries, as a bad frame might be introduced, seemingly randomly. This is not worth any improvement in preview.

 

Is this a common problem? Is it on Adobe's urgent list? This has been going on randomly for months.

 

Please, don't make me learn Quake!

Mettle Skybox plugins install error

Greetings,

 

I'm excited about the recent acquisition by Adobe of Mettle Skybox plugins for 360 video editing in After Effects and Premiere Pro.  I installed the plugins and they seem to be working for Premiere Pro, but for After Effects, I get this message when I start the program:

Any suggestions about how to get these plugins to load correctly?

Preserve Underlying Transparency Checkbox Missing

Adobe After Effects CC 2017 - C__Users_HP_Documents_Rona Distort and Displace 2.aep 9_18_2017 8_42_24 PM.png

 

I searched online and found that the Preserve Underlying Transparency should be next to the composition and represented by a T symbol.
However, I cannot find it for my PNG files. I believe I have alpha channel fully enabled. Any reasons and solutions to this?

Converting a particular color to dashes

hey guys, i have been trying to convert a specific color ( a red colored strip ) in my video to dashes, just like a spline path can be done using dashes. I tried using veneterian blinds, but at corners, it looks so weird. help me guys with this, i really need to do it.

Flipping text vertically in place

Hey guys,

 

I'm very new to AE and am struggling to work out how to flip a letter vertically in place, over time. As an example, the word PeeP (I know there's a capital P at the end, that's how it's supposed to be). I want to rotate the eP at the end, in place.

 

Sorry for my description being so vague, I appreciate any advice you can give me.

How can i export correctly an animation with AME OR AE?

Hello!

im trying to export an animation for youtube (h264 / vimeo 1080p hd) with Adobe Media Encoder CC but every time it stops rendering and pops a "failed"note like "The Operation was interrupted by user" and "Encoding Failed".

Can anyone please help me?

Do i have to change the settings?

Dynamic Link does unwanted changes

Hi!

My workflow is:

Editing my video in Premiere Pro CC17 > select all the video clips in my timeline - dynamic link the video clips to After Effects for color correction. My problem is that when I do this there are some unwanted changes done:

 

1. the spacing between some clips are changed, resulting in black frames.

2. One of the clips where mirrored in Premiere pro for aestetic reasons, that clip is now mirrored back to how it was originally.

Auto-Orient to Camera creates unwanted Z orientation

I have eight icons arranged in a circle, a Null object in the centre, and a camera that's parented to the Null. Each icon is set to be a 3D layer, and Auto-Oriented towards the camera. The camera is Auto-Oriented to Point of Interest, and parented to the Null, so that I can adjust the Z rotation of the Null to have the camera orbit the circle (producing the effect that the circle of icons is carouselling around).

 

Everything else is perfect, but the icons on the sides are somehow inheriting quite a dramatic Z orientation / rotation. I've attached a screenshot below to illustrate what I mean.

 

How can I have each icon always face the camera, but remain fully level?

Different Type of Mask Feathering

Goal: I am still trying to polish displacement mapping and want the distortion to be less extreme at the edges. I want a masking feathering effect that is more intelligent, basically reducing the strength of the effect the closer it is to the edge of the mask. Ex: 0% effect at edge of mask. 50% effect halfway to a set radius. 100% effect at radius. And 0% -> 50% -> 100% blends smoothly.

 

Problem: Currently, feathering of mask on effect makes an overlay of effect at 100% over effect at 0%. There's no interpolations. This does not blend the edges smoothly at all.

 

Is there a way to achieve this?

Cae AE Make a Still Image of Heart Looks Like It's Beating?

I want to take a still vector image of a heart (not the one pictured here, but you get the idea) and make it look like the heart is beating.

 

Can anyone recommend one or two effects I can use to make the still image look like it's pulsing?

After Effects Skybox Load Error

After having loaded the Adobe SkyBox 360/VR plugins for Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects , when starting After Effects CC 2017 and during the "Initializing Media Core" portion of the startup sequence, I continuously receive the following error:

"After Effects warning: The following plugins have failed to load. Please reinstall these plugins: C:\Program Files\Common\7.0\MediaCore\Mettle\VRPlayer.prm"

I have reloaded the furnished plugins several times but the error during After Effects start still occur. It appears that the plugin did load properly and is available within After Effects; and functions without issue. Also, there is no such error when loading Premiere Pro CC 2017.

Has anyone else experienced this error issue and been able to resolve it? If so, please advise as to how to remove this startup error in After Effects.

 

System Info: Intel i7-7700 CPU @ 4.2GHz, 64.0 GB Ram, Windows 10, 64bit, Nvidia GeForce 1070-8GB

Adobe After effects Out of Memory after 10 -20 mins working

Hi

 

i am really started getting angry about this i maybe dont have a 5000 Dollar workstation

but 32 gb Ram and 6 Cores should be engouth to work with that Software in HD right ?

 

here my system specs

Intel i7 4930K

GTX 1080

32GB RAM

C: 750 SSD EVO

 

so every time i working in AE or PR but specially AE after 10 -20 mins previewing the program crashes because its out of Memory.

Is there anyway to fix that ?  Sometimes i purge everything and it shows like 2 - 40gb of purging .

What do I need to setup Virtual Machines on my Render Server?

Hello Community,

 

I'm tasked with figuring out the ins and outs of setting up a render server for our Production Department. We will be working in conjunction with a Tech company to install and manage the server hardware/software. We currently work in a Mac environment and would like to keep the Render Server the same. From my brief talks with the Tech guy, he wants to use a server and create Virtual Machines (VMs) for use with After Effects Net Render Engine. He had mentioned something along the lines of 10-15 VMs from a server. He's not to familiar with the software side of AE and I'm not too familiar with the hardware side of servers. I've done net rendering before on multiple physical machines using Watch Folders as well as Team Render and Net Render from Cinema 4D so I understand the idea of Virtual Machines being the "physical" nodes. What we're unclear of is what do we need to get started with the Render Server?


Are there hardware limitations as to how many VMs we could put on a server? (CPU = # VM)

Are there specific types of servers that would suit us best?

What types of software can we use to handle the administration of each VM for AE Net Render and possibly C4D in the future?

How can we handle the licenses from Plug-Ins such as Trapcode Particular, Optical Flares, etc?

 

If there's any information I can provide that would be helpful, I'll be happy to do so.
